We Say
When it comes to achieving a flawless finish after machine polishing or applying paint protection, the microfibre towel you choose can make a significant difference. Even after carefully correcting the paintwork, using an unsuitable cloth to remove polishing residues, waxes or sealants can introduce fine scratches or leave behind unwanted streaks. A quality buffing towel therefore needs to strike the right balance between effective product removal and gentle contact with the surface.
The Koch-Chemie Polish & Sealing Towel has been developed specifically for these finishing tasks. Featuring a premium 520 GSM microfibre construction, it combines two differently textured sides with ultrasonically cut edges, providing a versatile solution for removing residues and producing a clear, high-gloss finish.
One of the most useful aspects of this towel is its dual-sided construction. Different detailing products can leave behind very different types of residue. Some polishing compounds require a little more mechanical cleaning action to remove completely, while finishing polishes and waxes often benefit from a softer, more delicate final buff. Having two different microfibre textures available within the same towel makes it easier to adapt your approach to the product being removed.
The 520 GSM fabric weight is also worth highlighting. This is a relatively plush towel compared with many general-purpose microfibres, providing a substantial amount of material between your hand and the paintwork. The soft microfibre fibres help lift and retain product residues while reducing the need to apply unnecessary pressure during buffing.
Another particularly important feature is the ultrasonic edge construction. Conventional microfibre towels often feature stitched or overlocked edging, which can be firmer than the surrounding fabric. Koch-Chemie eliminates this conventional stitching by ultrasonically cutting the edges, helping create a more uniform and paint-friendly contact surface.
According to Koch-Chemie, this manufacturing process also helps prevent fraying, even after repeated machine washing. The manufacturer specifically references resistance to fraying after 50 wash cycles, which is an encouraging indication of the towel's durability when cared for correctly.
The towel is manufactured from an 80/20 polyester and polyamide blend using a warp-knitted construction. The polyester provides structure and durability, while the polyamide contributes to softness and absorbency. Combined with its lint-free and silicone-free specification, this makes it particularly well suited to final finishing work where unwanted fibres or residues could compromise the result.
Koch-Chemie also specifically recommends the Polish & Sealing Towel for use with its 1K-Nano paint sealant. This makes sense because the removal and finishing stages of reactive sealants demand a consistent, clean buffing towel capable of removing the product thoroughly without unnecessarily disturbing the freshly prepared paintwork.
At 40 x 40 cm, the towels are a practical size for folding into quarters and rotating through clean working surfaces. This is particularly important when removing polishing compounds or sealants, as continuing to use a saturated towel can simply redistribute residues rather than removing them effectively.
We also like the fact that these are supplied in packs of five. During a full paint correction or protection process, multiple clean towels are often required, so having several identical cloths available helps maintain a consistent approach throughout the job.
For us, the Koch-Chemie Polish & Sealing Towel is a particularly well-considered finishing accessory. Its combination of two different microfibre textures, substantial 520 GSM construction and ultrasonically cut edges makes it an excellent choice for anyone who takes paint correction and protection seriously. It's designed to do the important finishing jobs properly, helping preserve the quality of the paintwork you've worked so hard to achieve.
Key Features
Description
The Koch-Chemie Polish & Sealing Towel is a premium dual-sided microfibre towel designed for safely removing polishing residues, waxes and paint sealants while achieving a flawless, high-gloss finish.
Manufactured using an 80/20 polyester and polyamide microfibre blend, the towel features a substantial 520 GSM warp-knitted construction with two differently textured sides. This versatile design makes it particularly useful for removing detailing product residues and carrying out delicate final buffing work.
Its ultrasonically cut edges eliminate conventional stitched edging, reducing the potential for unwanted friction against delicate paintwork. Koch-Chemie also uses a specialised ultrasonic cutting process that helps prevent the edges from fraying, even after repeated machine washing.
The microfibre material is exceptionally soft, lint-free and silicone-free, making it particularly well suited to high-quality paint finishing applications. Koch-Chemie specifically recommends the towel for use when applying and removing its 1K-Nano paint sealant.
Each towel measures 40 x 40 cm and is supplied in a convenient pack of five, providing multiple clean cloths for use throughout the polishing and protection process.

How To Use
1) Prepare the towel:
Select a clean Koch-Chemie Polish & Sealing Towel and ensure it is completely free from grit, dirt or other abrasive contamination before use.
2) Fold into quarters:
Fold the towel into quarters to create several manageable working surfaces. This makes it easier to control the towel and rotate through clean sections as required.
3) Remove polishing residues:
After machine polishing, gently wipe the treated paintwork using the appropriate side of the towel to remove residual polishing compound. Avoid excessive pressure and allow the microfibre to lift the residues from the surface.
4) Buff waxes and sealants:
When removing waxes or paint sealants, follow the protection product manufacturer's recommended curing or removal time. Gently buff the treated surface using a clean section of the towel until the residue has been removed.
5) Complete the final finish:
Use the opposite side of the towel or a second clean cloth for final buffing where required, ensuring the paintwork is free from visible streaks, smears and remaining product residue.
6) Rotate towels regularly:
As the towel becomes saturated with polish, wax or sealant residues, switch to a clean working face or replace it with a fresh towel. Continuing to use a heavily contaminated cloth can redistribute residues across the surface.
7) Inspect the paintwork:
Check the finished surface under suitable lighting to ensure all remaining product has been removed and a uniform high-gloss finish has been achieved.
Care Instructions:
✓ Machine wash using a suitable microfibre detergent
✓ Follow the towel's care label for washing temperature
✓ Wash separately from cotton and lint-producing fabrics
✓ Avoid fabric softeners and bleach
✓ Avoid excessive drying temperatures
✓ Allow towels to dry completely before storage
✓ Store in a clean, dry and dust-free environment
✓ Inspect towels carefully before each use
Important: Always use clean microfibre towels when working on delicate paintwork. If a towel becomes contaminated with abrasive particles or hardened coating residues, do not continue using it for paint finishing. Towels used with reactive ceramic coatings may become unsuitable for reuse once the product has cured within the fibres.
