Judging from many of the emails we receive, a common problem for many car care enthusiasts concerns exterior trim dressings and their apparent lack of durability under typical UK driving conditions. While it is fair to say that many modern water-based dressings struggle to adhere for any longer than several weeks at a time, it is also fair to say that in many cases their durability is compromised by the fact that treated surfaces are not cleaned properly first. Is it really fair to expect a water-based dressing to adhere properly to anything less than a spotlessly clean, oil-free surface? We think not, and suggest that Swissvax Plastic Wash is the perfect preparatory product for all water-based dressings. Furthermore, it's also the most effective plastic cleaner we've ever used.

Swissvax Plastic Wash is an intensive detergent-based cleaner designed for interior, exterior and engine bay plastics. Such components are often dressed without being properly cleaned first, which is counter-productive because contaminants are then distributed over the treated surface and carried into its pores. This may seem to be a relatively minor issue, but in reality it is more serious, as the durability of the dressing will be reduced and the treated surface may begin to take on a weathered appearance. This issue can be avoided if all plastic and vinyl components are periodically cleaned with Swissvax Plastic Wash prior to the application of Swissvax Protecton or Swissvax Protecton Matt. On most vehicles used as daily drivers, a bi-annual treatment is recommended.

How To Use
Swissvax Plastic Wash comes pre-diluted to the correct strength for safe use on all automotive plastics, and should thus be used neat. For use on smooth plastics, it should be sprayed on to a Swissvax Micro-Wash Towel and then wiped over the surfaces to be cleaned before being wiped off with a second Swissvax Micro-Wash Towel (the second towel should be dampened with water). For use on textured plastics, Swissvax Plastic Wash should be sprayed on to the surfaces to be cleaned, agitated gently using a Swissvax Cleaning Brush, and then wiped off with a damp Swissvax Micro-Wash Towel. All surfaces should be dried fully before any protective products are subsequently applied.
