We Say
Wheel spokes are one of the hardest areas to clean properly, not because they’re especially dirty, but because access is poor and most tools are the wrong shape. Brushes can be too aggressive on delicate finishes, while flat sponges simply can’t follow the curved geometry of spokes and inner barrels.
The Sponge Guru Alloy Spoke Cleaner – Round is designed specifically to solve that problem. Its compact, cylindrical profile allows you to work between spokes and around curved surfaces with far more control than a standard wash mitt or pad. That shape matters: it keeps contact even, improves lubrication and reduces the chance of dragging brake dust across the wheel face.
From a technique point of view, this tool encourages safer wheel cleaning. You’re able to clean progressively, keep contamination localised, and avoid forcing oversized tools into tight gaps. Used with a suitable wheel cleaner and good rinse discipline, it’s a much safer way to maintain alloy wheels — especially painted, lacquered or ceramic-coated finishes.
It’s a simple tool, but one that makes wheel cleaning more controlled and significantly less risky.
Key Features
Description
The Sponge Guru Alloy Spoke Cleaner – Round is a purpose-built wheel cleaning sponge designed to access narrow gaps and curved surfaces found around alloy wheel spokes and inner barrels.
Ideal for cleaning:
✔ Alloy wheel spokes
✔ Inner wheel barrels
✔ Curved and recessed wheel areas
The round sponge profile allows even pressure and consistent contact, helping lift brake dust and road grime while maintaining good lubrication. Compared to rigid brushes or flat pads, it offers better control and a lower risk of marking sensitive wheel finishes.
This sponge is also included in several Sponge Guru wheel and detailing kits, and is available individually within our Sponge Guru range for easy replacement.
