We Say
Stubborn adhesive and tree sap on matt paint? Eulex M tackles the contamination without the aggressive rubbing that delicate finishes simply can't tolerate.
Removing stubborn adhesive residue is fairly straightforward on conventional gloss paintwork, provided you have the right solvent cleaner. Matt and satin finishes, however, present a rather different challenge. They're much less forgiving of excessive rubbing, and the last thing you want to do is create a permanently glossy patch while trying to remove a little contamination.
That's what makes Koch-Chemie Eulex M particularly interesting. It's a specialist adhesive and stain remover developed for solvent-resistant surfaces, including matt-painted vehicles. Rather than relying on aggressive scrubbing, the formulation penetrates organic residues, softening them so they can be removed with minimal mechanical effort.
Koch-Chemie specifically recommends Eulex M for adhesive residues, tree sap and rubber marks. These are exactly the sorts of deposits that can prove frustrating with ordinary shampoos and general-purpose cleaners. They tend to cling stubbornly to the surface, and trying to force them off with a cloth can create more problems than it solves.
The real advantage here is the combination of cleaning action and controlled working time. Eulex M evaporates relatively slowly, allowing it to remain in contact with the contamination while the residues soften. It also has a lower odour than many conventional solvent cleaners, which makes the application process more pleasant, although suitable ventilation is still essential.
Perhaps the most important thing to understand is the difference between Eulex M and the original Koch-Chemie Eulex. The standard product is a fast-evaporating adhesive and stain remover intended for compatible solvent-resistant surfaces. Eulex M is formulated differently and is specifically recommended by Koch-Chemie for use on matt paintwork. They're related products, but not interchangeable in every situation.
For matt finishes, technique is every bit as important as chemistry. Koch-Chemie recommends spraying Eulex M directly onto the cool surface, allowing one to three minutes of contact time, and using a soft sponge without pressure if required. The residue should then be removed thoroughly with a pressure washer, followed by washing, rinsing and careful drying. Vigorous buffing is definitely not the approach to take here.
On conventional gloss paint, compatible glass, ceramic and metal surfaces, the process is a little more straightforward. Once the contamination has softened, the residue can also be removed with a suitable soft cloth. As with all solvent-based products, we'd always check compatibility first, particularly around sensitive plastics, seals, non-standard coatings and repaired paintwork.
One limitation worth stressing is that Eulex M is not suitable for polycarbonate, acrylic or similar plastics. Headlight lenses and other sensitive transparent components therefore need particular care. Don't assume that because the product is suitable for certain automotive surfaces, it's automatically safe on everything around them.
For us, Eulex M is a product that earns its place through a very specific capability. If you're regularly working with matt or satin-painted vehicles, having an adhesive remover designed with those finishes in mind is a considerable advantage. It's also a useful general-purpose adhesive and tree sap remover for compatible surfaces, but its real strength is giving detailers a more appropriate way to tackle contamination on finishes where conventional polishing simply isn't an option.
Key Features
Description
Koch-Chemie Eulex M is a specialist, low-odour adhesive and contamination remover developed for use on suitable solvent-resistant surfaces, including delicate matt-painted vehicles.
Its effective solvent-based formulation penetrates stubborn organic contamination such as adhesive residue, tree sap and rubber marks, helping soften and loosen deposits so they can be removed with minimal effort.
Unlike conventional fast-evaporating adhesive removers, Eulex M provides a longer working time and is specifically recommended by Koch-Chemie for matt paintwork. This is particularly useful where aggressive rubbing or polishing could cause unwanted glossy patches or permanent changes in appearance.
The product is also suitable for compatible conventional paintwork, glass, ceramic and metal surfaces. It contains no halogenated hydrocarbons and carries Daimler approval.
Why you'll love it:

Which Eulex should you choose? Standard Koch-Chemie Eulex is a fast-evaporating stain and adhesive remover for compatible solvent-resistant surfaces. Eulex M is the more appropriate option where matt paintwork is involved, provided the finish has been checked for compatibility and the manufacturer's instructions are followed.
Use it with: Koch-Chemie recommends a thorough wash with NanoMagic Shampoo following treatment of matt paintwork. Browse our car shampoos to complete the cleaning process, or explore our microfibre towels for gentle residue removal on compatible conventional finishes.
For related products, see our tar and glue removers, including Koch-Chemie TEA Teerwäsche A for conventional tar and bitumen contamination on suitable solvent-resistant surfaces.
Please note: Eulex M is not suitable for polycarbonate, acrylic or similar plastics. Always carry out a compatibility test before use, especially on matt paint, wraps and sensitive finishes. Do not apply to hot surfaces or allow the product to dry.

How To Use
1) Check surface compatibility:
Before using Eulex M, confirm that the surface is solvent-resistant and suitable for treatment. Always perform a small test in an inconspicuous area, particularly on matt or satin finishes. Do not use on polycarbonate, acrylic or similar plastics.
2) Prepare the surface:
Work on a cool surface, away from direct sunlight. Remove loose contamination where possible and ensure the area is suitable for treatment.
3) Apply to matt paint:
Apply Eulex M undiluted by spraying it onto the cool area being treated. Allow the product to work for approximately 1-3 minutes while it softens the adhesive, tree sap or rubber deposits.
4) Agitate only if necessary:
If contamination remains, use a soft sponge with minimal pressure. Do not scrub or polish matt surfaces, as excessive friction can produce glossy patches or alter their appearance.
5) Rinse thoroughly:
For matt-painted surfaces, thoroughly remove Eulex M and loosened contamination using a pressure washer. Never allow the product to dry on the surface.
6) Complete the matt paint cleaning process:
Koch-Chemie recommends washing with NanoMagic Shampoo after treatment, followed by thorough rinsing and careful drying without pressure.
7) For conventional paint, glass and compatible surfaces:
Follow the appropriate compatibility precautions. Once residues have softened, they can also be removed carefully with a suitable soft cloth rather than a pressure washer. Remove any remaining cleaner thoroughly.
