Gyeon Q²M Clay

We Say

Gyeon Q²M Clay is available in two different grades (coarse and mild), and has a unique selling point; unlike its rivals it is chemically resistant, which means it can be used in conjunction with strong cleaning chemicals without any fear of it dissolving or falling apart. This is a very useful feature, as it means Gyeon Q²M Clay can be used in conjunction with iron contamination removers like Gyeon Q²M Iron to great effect, with the latter dissolving iron-rich contaminants in situ (and lubricating the former) while the former simultaneously abrades away other bonded inorganics such as paint overspray and non-ferrous fallout. This ability to perform two decontamination steps in one makes Gyeon Q²M Clay worth its weight in gold. For heavily contaminated cars and/or where a subsequent paint correction step is planned the coarse version is perfect, whereas for lighter duties where no machine polishing is planned the mild option is the safer option, particularly on softer paint finishes.

Description

Gyeon Q²M Clay is designed to remove stubbornly bonded surface contaminants and restore a perfectly smooth finish on bodywork and glass. Two grades are available (coarse and mild), both of which are chemically resistant. This means that Gyeon Q²M Clay can be used in conjunction with tar removers and iron contaminant removers such as Gyeon Q²M Tar and Gyeon Q²M Iron, in addition to clay lubricants such as Gyeon Q²M ClayLube. As a result, the potential for time-savings during the decontamination process is significant. Gyeon Q²M Clay works by using high quality micro-abrasives to cut away any unwanted particulates that are sitting proud of the finish. The coarse version contains robust abrasives that make short work of heavy levels of contamination, while the mild version contains finer abrasives that are unlikely to cause any surface marring, even on soft paint finishes.

How To Use

Gyeon Q²M Clay is designed to work optimally with Gyeon Q²M ClayLube, although other clay lubricants may also be used. Before use, divide the clay into several pieces and soften them up in a bowl of warm water. When you are ready to start (after washing and rinsing your car normally, and then treating the bodywork and glass with tar and iron removers), take out one of the pieces and mould it into a patty shape. Next, soak the first surface to be treated with a clay lubricant (e.g. Gyeon Q²M ClayLube) and, using light pressure, begin rubbing the clay over it in straight lines in all directions. Initially you may feel some resistance (as the clay encounters residual contaminants), but this will gradually ease until the clay glides freely, indicating that the contaminants have been fully removed. Swap the piece of clay after each panel or window (to ensure you are always working with a soft piece) and repeat these steps until all of the bodywork and glass is done. Finally, either foam or wash the car again, and then rinse it thoroughly and dry off. Note that if you drop a piece of clay at any point you must immediately discard it, otherwise you run the risk of damaging your car.
