We Say
Platinum Trim 2.0 is one of those products that instantly makes sense the moment you use it. Plastic trim is constantly hammered by UV, traffic film and harsh cleaners, and most traditional dressings are a short-term cosmetic fix that either wash away, streak, or leave the surface feeling oily.
This is a dedicated ceramic coating engineered specifically for plastics and trim, and the “2.0” update matters. Carbon Collective reformulated it to create a stronger chemical bond to the surface, which improves durability and makes it easier to apply cleanly and consistently. Once cured, it leaves an enhanced OEM-style satin finish rather than an artificial wet look, and it cures dry to the touch so it’s far less likely to attract dust and grime.
Where it really earns its keep is longevity and resistance. The coating is designed to protect against UV-driven fading and discolouration, while adding chemical and contaminant resistance that helps trim stay cleaner and easier to maintain. It’s also not just for tired trim — it can be used as a preventative coating on new plastics to help keep them looking “new” for longer.
In our opinion, Platinum Trim 2.0 is exactly what trim protection should be: a proper, long-lasting solution that restores the look without leaving the surface greasy. If you’re fed up of dressings that fade in weeks, this is the upgrade that makes the effort worthwhile.

How To Use
1) Clean the trim properly: Remove traffic film, oils and any previous dressings first. This is the most important step — coatings bond to the surface, so any residue left behind will reduce durability.
2) Dry fully: Ensure the trim is completely dry before application, especially around textured plastics and panel edges.
3) Apply thinly: Apply a small amount to an applicator and work it into the trim evenly. Aim for a thin, uniform layer rather than saturating the surface.
4) Level excess: After a short moment, lightly level any excess with a clean microfibre to prevent high spots, streaking or patchiness—especially on smoother plastics and piano-black trim.
5) Allow to cure: Leave the coating to cure and avoid getting the trim wet during the initial curing period. The coating cures dry to the touch once set, helping reduce dust attraction.
Good practice:
- Work on cool surfaces out of direct sunlight
- Don’t allow product to pool in edges or textured areas
- Always test on an inconspicuous area first, especially on unusual finishes
