Most people clean what they can see, because getting behind the wheel face usually means either forcing a bulky mitt into a gap (high friction, low control) or using a brush that can be too aggressive on delicate finishes. A long, sponge-based tool changes that: it lets you work deeper into the barrel with consistent contact and far better feedback, which reduces the chance of dragging abrasive contamination across the face as you manoeuvre around spoke edges.

The Sponge Guru Alloy Spoke Cleaner – Oval is a purpose-built wheel cleaning sponge designed for alloys with wider spokes and flatter profiles. Its oval shape increases surface contact, making it easier to clean spoke faces and gently curved areas without excessive pressure.

How To Use
1) Pre-rinse: Rinse wheels thoroughly to remove loose dirt and grit.
2) Apply cleaner: Apply a suitable wheel cleaner and allow it to dwell as directed.
3) Clean methodically: Use the sponge to clean spoke faces and transitions with controlled movements.
4) Rinse frequently: Rinse the sponge often to release trapped contamination.
5) Final rinse: Rinse the wheel thoroughly before drying or applying protection.
