The NexDiag NexPTG Economic Plus is a Bluetooth-enabled paint and coating thickness gauge designed for straightforward inspection of steel and galvanised steel panels. It measures coating build within a practical 0–1000 μm range at 10 μm resolution, giving you meaningful data for assessing paint history and planning safe correction.
A key benefit of this model is the movable spherical probe and profiled probe housing, which improves contact and repeatability on curved areas of bodywork. That matters in real use: more stable readings means better panel mapping and fewer “false” anomalies caused by poor probe positioning.

How To Use
1) Start clean and dry: For consistent readings, measure on clean, dry panels. Water, grime or heavy residue can affect probe contact and introduce variability.
2) Pair to the app: Connect via Bluetooth so you can view live readings clearly and build a more reliable picture of each panel.
3) Measure in a repeatable pattern: Take readings in a grid across each panel (top/middle/bottom). The goal is identifying variation across the vehicle, not chasing a single “perfect” number.
4) Use multiple readings on curves: Let the spherical probe settle naturally and take 2–3 readings per spot for confidence. If values jump, reposition and re-check.
5) Plan correction from the data: A gauge measures total coating build (not clear coat alone). Treat low or inconsistent areas as higher risk and adjust pad/polish aggression accordingly.
