We Say

The NexDiag NexPTG Economic Plus is a properly useful entry point into paint inspection: fast, repeatable thickness readings that help you make safer decisions before you polish. Whether you’re buying a used car, correcting unknown paint, or simply trying to avoid chasing defects too aggressively, a gauge like this gives you the context your eyes can’t.

Economic Plus focuses on the fundamentals that matter most in real detailing work: a measurement range that covers factory paint and the majority of common repaints, a curved-surface friendly probe for consistent contact, and app connectivity so you can view readings clearly and build a more reliable picture of each panel.

If you later want deeper workflow tools (more measurement history and structured inspection features), you can step up within the NexPTG range.

Key Features

Inspection Range 01000 um (Factory paint & common repaints)
Measurement Memory 100 (Stored readings)
Measurement Speed 10/sec (Fast panel scanning)

Description

The NexDiag NexPTG Economic Plus is a Bluetooth-enabled paint and coating thickness gauge designed for straightforward inspection of steel and galvanised steel panels. It measures coating build within a practical 01000 μm range at 10 μm resolution, giving you meaningful data for assessing paint history and planning safe correction.

A key benefit of this model is the movable spherical probe and profiled probe housing, which improves contact and repeatability on curved areas of bodywork. That matters in real use: more stable readings means better panel mapping and fewer “false” anomalies caused by poor probe positioning.

Readings are transmitted via Bluetooth 4.0 LE to the NexPTG app on iOS/Android, and the built-in SAPL Basic coating analysis system helps interpret the coating condition beyond a single number. If you later require higher storage capacity and additional inspection workflow features, the range includes step-up models.

If you find yourself mapping panels regularly or needing to store and compare inspection data, consider stepping up to the Standard Plus or Professional models.

How To Use

1) Start clean and dry: For consistent readings, measure on clean, dry panels. Water, grime or heavy residue can affect probe contact and introduce variability.

2) Pair to the app: Connect via Bluetooth so you can view live readings clearly and build a more reliable picture of each panel.

3) Measure in a repeatable pattern: Take readings in a grid across each panel (top/middle/bottom). The goal is identifying variation across the vehicle, not chasing a single “perfect” number.

4) Use multiple readings on curves: Let the spherical probe settle naturally and take 2–3 readings per spot for confidence. If values jump, reposition and re-check.

5) Plan correction from the data: A gauge measures total coating build (not clear coat alone). Treat low or inconsistent areas as higher risk and adjust pad/polish aggression accordingly.

If you later need higher storage capacity and more structured inspection workflow features, step up within the NexPTG range.
