We Say
There is a considerable difference between applying a conventional paint sealant and investing the time required to install a proper ceramic coating. With a traditional wax or sealant, the emphasis is often on achieving an attractive finish with relatively straightforward application. A ceramic coating takes things further, creating a durable protective layer that changes the way water and contamination interact with the paintwork over an extended period.
Koch-Chemie Ceramic Neo C0.03 is designed around this more permanent approach to paint protection. It is a premium ceramic coating developed to provide exceptional gloss, enhanced colour depth and strong water-repellent properties, while leaving the paintwork noticeably smoother to the touch. The resulting finish isn't simply about appearance; the protective layer also helps make routine cleaning considerably easier.
One of the most appealing characteristics of a properly installed ceramic coating is its hydrophobic behaviour. By reducing the tendency of water to spread and remain on the surface, Ceramic Neo helps encourage water to bead and run off the paintwork. Combined with its smooth finish, this can also make it more difficult for everyday road grime and environmental contamination to adhere strongly to the surface.
We particularly like the emphasis Koch-Chemie places on gloss and colour depth. On darker paint finishes, especially black, deep blue and metallic colours, a coating that enhances surface clarity can make a noticeable difference to the final appearance. Of course, the quality of the paintwork underneath remains critically important, because a ceramic coating won't remove scratches, swirl marks or polishing holograms.
That brings us to what is arguably the most important consideration with Ceramic Neo: preparation. Before application, the paintwork needs to be thoroughly washed, chemically and mechanically decontaminated where necessary, and machine polished to the required standard. Any remaining polishing oils or residues must then be removed using a suitable panel preparation product to provide a clean surface for the coating to bond to.
Application itself follows a controlled process. The coating is applied using a suitable applicator, working manageable sections of paintwork before carefully levelling the residue with a dedicated coating towel. Consistent coverage and thorough removal of excess product are essential, because any high spots or uneven areas can become considerably more difficult to correct once the coating has cured.
Another important distinction is the curing process. Ceramic Neo requires a protected environment during its initial cure, with the vehicle kept dry and undisturbed. This is not a product we'd recommend applying outside immediately before rain, nor is it particularly suitable for anyone looking for a quick protective finish after a routine wash.
For us, Ceramic Neo C0.03 is an interesting addition to Koch-Chemie's professional protection range because it brings together the qualities that matter most in a premium ceramic coating: outstanding visual enhancement, strong hydrophobic performance and a durable surface that is easier to maintain. If you're prepared to invest the time in proper paint preparation and careful application, it offers a compelling way to preserve that freshly detailed finish.
Key Features
Description
Koch-Chemie Ceramic Neo C0.03 is a premium ceramic paint coating designed to deliver exceptional gloss, enhanced colour depth and long-lasting protection to properly prepared automotive paintwork.
Once applied and cured, Ceramic Neo creates a smooth, hydrophobic protective layer that helps reduce the adhesion of dirt and environmental contamination. Its strong water-repellent properties encourage water to bead and run off the surface, helping make subsequent maintenance washing easier and more efficient.
The coating also enhances the visual appearance of the paintwork, producing a high-gloss finish with improved colour depth and clarity. It is particularly well suited to vehicles that have undergone a thorough paint correction process and require a durable protective finish.

Correct preparation is essential when applying a ceramic coating. Before installation, thoroughly clean and refine the paintwork, then remove any remaining polishing oils using a suitable product from our panel wipe range. A properly prepared surface provides the best foundation for successful coating application.
For application and residue removal, we recommend using suitable accessories from our microfibre towel range. Clean, appropriate coating towels are particularly important when levelling ceramic coatings to avoid leaving high spots or streaks.

How To Use
1) Thoroughly wash the vehicle:
Begin with a comprehensive wash to remove dirt, traffic film and existing contamination. Where necessary, use a suitable alkaline pre-wash to help remove old protection and prepare the surface for further treatment.
2) Decontaminate the paintwork:
Remove bonded contamination using appropriate chemical fallout removers, tar removers and detailing clay where required. The surface should be completely clean before polishing or coating.
3) Correct and refine the paintwork:
Inspect the paintwork under suitable lighting and machine polish as necessary to remove swirl marks, scratches, oxidation and holograms. Ceramic Neo will not conceal or remove existing paint defects, so the desired finish must be achieved before application.
4) Degrease the surface:
Carefully remove all polishing oils, fillers and residues using a suitable panel preparation product. Work with clean microfibre towels and ensure the paintwork is completely dry and free from contamination before proceeding.
5) Prepare the coating:
Work indoors in a clean, dry and well-ventilated environment. Wear appropriate protective gloves and any additional equipment specified by the manufacturer. Prepare a suitable coating applicator and several clean coating removal towels.
6) Apply to individual sections:
Apply Ceramic Neo C0.03 to a suitable coating applicator and spread evenly across a manageable section of paintwork. Work in two overlapping crosswise passes to ensure consistent coverage.
7) Allow the coating to flash:
Allow the applied coating to air briefly in accordance with the manufacturer's current instructions. Flashing behaviour can vary depending on temperature, humidity and the amount of product applied, so monitor the coating carefully rather than relying on a fixed removal time.
8) Level the residue:
Using a clean, suitable microfibre coating towel, carefully level the remaining product until the surface is completely clear and streak-free. Inspect the panel under suitable lighting to identify any high spots before moving to the next section.
9) Allow the coating to cure:
Once application is complete, keep the vehicle indoors and protected from water and contamination during the initial curing period. Allow at least 24 hours before exposing the vehicle to the weather, and avoid washing for a minimum of nine days, subject to the current manufacturer's instructions.
10) Maintain the coating:
Once the curing period has passed, maintain the vehicle using a suitable pH-neutral maintenance shampoo and safe contact washing techniques. Avoid unnecessary abrasive cleaning and use appropriate ceramic coating maintenance products where recommended.
Important Notes:
✓ Apply only to thoroughly prepared, clean and dry paintwork
✓ Work indoors in a clean, well-ventilated environment
✓ Always wear the manufacturer's recommended protective equipment
✓ Apply one manageable section at a time
✓ Use clean coating applicators and removal towels
✓ Inspect carefully for high spots during application
✓ Protect the coating from moisture during initial curing
✓ Do not wash during the first nine days, subject to current instructions
✓ Follow the latest manufacturer label and safety documentation
Important: Ceramic Neo C0.03 is intended for users familiar with professional ceramic coating preparation and application techniques. Incorrect installation or incomplete residue removal can leave visible high spots that may require machine polishing to correct.
