We Say
When we first cracked the seal on a bottle of Gyeon Q²M APC, we weren’t just looking for another all-purpose cleaner; we were looking for a chemical tool that respects both the surface and the user. In the detailing world, "APC" is often synonymous with harsh alkalinity and harsh fumes, but Gyeon has taken a different approach here. They’ve engineered a product that sits at a pH of 13—undeniably alkaline—yet manages to remain non-caustic. This is a crucial distinction that we feel needs explaining.
From a chemical standpoint, a pH of 13 places this cleaner firmly in the heavy-duty category. It’s aggressive enough to tackle the most stubborn organic contaminants: brake dust, oily road grime, and heavy grease. However, the "non-caustic" label isn't just marketing fluff. Caustic agents (like sodium hydroxide) are highly corrosive and can chemically burn surfaces, leading to oxidation or etching. Q²M APC achieves its cleaning power through a sophisticated blend of surfactants and alkaline salts that lift dirt without the destructive corrosive action typically associated with high-pH wheel cleaners. In our testing, this means we can leave it on a dirty surface longer to dwell and break down grime without the immediate risk of damaging sensitive clear coats or wheel finishes—provided you don't let it dry out, of course.
We also have to talk about the dilution versatility. A 1:1 ratio is standard for heavy cleaning, but pushing this to 15:1 or even 20:1 is where the value shines. At these high dilutions, the surfactant package remains effective for light maintenance cleaning, like wiping down door jambs or cleaning interior plastics. The fact that it’s fragrance-free and clear is a massive bonus for us. Many APCs rely on heavy masking agents to cover up chemical odors; Gyeon skips that entirely. It’s a pure, functional formula that does the job without overwhelming the senses.
For us, the Gyeon Q²M APC hits the sweet spot between aggression and safety. It’s a high-pH solution that leverages chemical science to clean effectively, rather than relying on brute force. Whether you’re stripping wax, cleaning an engine bay, or just doing a quick interior wipe, it’s a reliable, no-nonsense addition to the arsenal.

How To Use
Ensure you are using Gyeon Q2M APC are the suitable dilution for the task at hand, and always try to use the highest dilution first. This will save you money and minimise the risk of damage. For external applications usually neat to 1:5 dilutions are suitable and for interiors anything up to 1:15. For interiors simply spray on to the surface or on to a towel or brush and agitate. Wipe down with a clean microfibre after. For exterior use, depending on the application you can spray on and pressure wash off after a few minutes or use a brush to agitate.
