We Say

If you're looking for the glossiest possible finish from a wax then SOFT99 King of Gloss should definitely be on your shortlist. Although many waxes deliver impressive levels of gloss, very few actually make the clearcoat look appreciably thicker, and this is the very cool party trick that SOFT99 King of Gloss pulls off. It achieves this mainly through the use of special synthetic resins, but earns its hybrid wax status via the inclusion of a modest dose of carnauba in the overall blend. In addition to the jaw-dropping level of gloss it delivers, it also has a noticeable effect on colour depth too. The dark version makes both darker-coloured finishes and mid-tone colours look slightly darker (almost like a mild tinting effect), while the light version makes lighter-coloured finishes look brighter. To achieve unparalleled levels of gloss and durability, simply apply SOFT99 King of Gloss over a basecoat of SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax.

Description

As its name suggests, SOFT99 King of Gloss is formulated specifically to deliver maximum glossiness. It achieves this using a hybrid blend of heavy gloss enhancing synthetic resins, and both petroleum-based and naturally derived waxes (e.g. paraffin and carnauba). These components cure to form a thick layer of ultra-glossy looking protection, which accentuates the underlying body colour. A lifespan of up to four months per application can be expected, although this can be extended further if it is layered from the outset. As is often the case for Japanese waxes, two different versions of SOFT99 King of Gloss are available; dark and light. The dark version intensifies the colour depth of darker-coloured paint finishes, while the light version enhances the brightness of lighter-coloured finishes. The differences, however, are quite subtle, and it's perfectly safe to experiment with either version on any given colour if you wish.

How To Use

SOFT99 King of Gloss should only be applied by hand. For best results, it should be applied to freshly cleansed paint one to two panels at a time and as thinly and evenly as possible using either the supplied foam applicator pad or an Auto Finesse Waxmate XL (we favour the latter, as its finer pore structure spreads a thinner layer of the product, which makes it easier to buff off). Try to avoid getting it on unpainted trims, but if you do be sure to wipe it off straight away, otherwise staining may occur. The resulting film should then be left to cure for 5-10 minutes before being buffed off carefully using a PB Deluxe Buffing Towel. Don't be tempted to apply it too thickly or leave it to cure for longer than specified (if you do you may find it more difficult to remove).
