We Say

It's been a long time coming, but finally a major player in the industrial work light market has developed a complete range of specialised work light solutions for the detailing market. In doing so, SCANGRIP of Denmark has provided us with exactly what we require; a range of different sized work lights specifically matched to our needs as detailers. Thankfully, the days of burning our fingers on halogen work lights and putting up with their overly yellow light output (which fails to highlight a multitude of common paint defects) are now well and truly behind us! The SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 is the smaller of the two floodlights in the SCANGRIP DETAILING range, yet it still outputs an incredible amount of light that is more than sufficient to fully illuminate even the darkest of garages and workshops. Moreover, its powerful COB LED also highlights far more defects than standard work lights, because it can be switched between two different colour temperatures (4500 K and 6500 K), which are optimised for inspecting lighter and darker finishes respectively. Furthermore, because it uses the same technology, it highlights everything our hand-held SCANGRIP SUNMATCH 2 does, and matches its two colour temperature modes perfectly, which is a godsend when you are trying to photograph or video your work to a high standard. The battery-only power mode offers up to 10 hours of cable-free use, which is more convenient than you might initially think (not having to move a cable around saves time, and also eliminates a potential trip hazard from your work space). And, as you would expect, the build quality is immense (the SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 is highly shock resistant and completely dust and waterproof). In a nutshell, it's an amazing work light for enthusiasts and professionals alike, and comes highly recommended.

Key Features

Colour Temperature 4500/6500 K (Warm White/Cold White)
Light Output 250 - 2500 lm (Luminous Flux)
Warranty 2 Year (Return To Base)

The SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 is a powerful rechargeable floor standing work light that makes defect spotting incredibly easy. The patented design features an extremely bright COB LED that outputs up to 2500 lumens of either warm white light or cold white light (selectable colour temperatures of 4500 K and 6500 K, with full spectrum CRI+ values of more than 96%). The SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 also features a dimmer function that adjusts the light output to five different levels (10%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%). The COB LED technology produces completely uniform and even illumination with only one shadow, which makes it ideal for detailing purposes. The SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 is made from die-cast aluminium and features a solvent resistant glass lens, and is highly shock resistant and completely dust and waterproof. Unlike many work lights, the SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 is powered by dual system hybrid technology, which comprises an internal 11.1 V 4400 mAh Li-ion battery and a mains power cable (which also serves as a battery charging cable when the light is plugged in but left switched off). The battery enables cable-free use virtually anywhere for up to 10 hours at a time (varies with dimmer function), while the mains power cable provides uninterrupted power for extended periods of use. As a result, the SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 offers unrivalled flexibility and unlimited application possibilities. A built-in adjustable stand facilitates precise ground level positioning, while the optional SCANGRIP TRIPOD can be used to suspend the SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 at various working heights and angles if required. Each SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 comes supplied with a mains power cable, an instruction manual and a two year return to base warranty.

How To Use

Before using the SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 for the first time, fully charge the internal 11.1 V 4400 mAh Li-ion battery using the supplied mains power cable (do not switch the light on during this period, otherwise recharging will cease). Always connect the power cable to the work light before plugging it in to the mains, and check that the LED indicator on the plug turns red as you switch the power on. Then leave it to charge fully (full charge is achieved when the LED indicator on the plug turns green and the LED battery status array on the rear of the work light lights up red all the way to 100%); this usually takes less than an hour from new, as the SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 is partially charged during production. In future, recharge the SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 as and when required; this typically takes around 2 hours from a flat state. Note that you should never store the SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 with a flat battery, as it could become over-discharged and impossible to reuse. In line with this, if you always use your SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 in mains-powered mode, or don't intend to use it for a long period of time (i.e. several months or more), make sure that you recharge it fully every 30 days or so, in order to ensure that the battery it remains in good condition. On a more general note, use the lower light output levels for general defect spotting and inspection duties, and the higher output levels to ruthlessly check your correction work. You will find it much easier to spot defects (particularly marring and holograms) if you position the SCANGRIP MULTIMATCH 2 approximately 1 – 2 m away from the area you are working on (either on the floor or mounted on a SCANGRIP TRIPOD or SCANGRIP WHEEL STAND, both of which are available separately).
