Anyone who regularly cleans wheels, engine bays or particularly dirty areas of a vehicle will appreciate the convenience of applying cleaning chemicals without constantly squeezing a trigger bottle. Once you've used a decent pump-action sprayer, it's difficult to go back.

The Koch-Chemie Pressure Sprayer Alkaline 1.5L takes that convenience a little further. It's a robust, manually pressurised sprayer developed specifically for use with suitable neutral and alkaline cleaning products, making it a useful accessory for everything from general pre-cleaning to more intensive degreasing jobs.

What really sets it apart, however, is the flexible suction hose inside the bottle. Unlike conventional sprayers that can struggle when tilted beyond a certain angle, Koch-Chemie has designed this model to operate through a full 360 degrees. That means you can turn the bottle upside down and continue spraying, provided it's correctly filled and pressurised.

It's a feature that sounds relatively minor until you start working around awkward areas. Cleaning the underside of wheel arches, reaching behind suspension components or applying degreaser beneath an engine bay can all involve holding a sprayer at unusual angles. Being able to maintain chemical delivery regardless of orientation makes those jobs much easier.

The adjustable spray pattern is another welcome feature. Rather than being limited to a single fixed spray, you can adjust the nozzle to provide a more focused or wider application, giving you better control over where the cleaning chemical is directed.

Just as importantly, the sprayer is fitted with EPDM seals. These are designed for compatible neutral and alkaline cleaning chemicals, making it particularly appropriate for products such as Koch-Chemie Green Star. Always remember that chemical resistance is specific to the formulation being used, so it's worth checking compatibility before filling the bottle with anything unfamiliar.

There is also an important difference between this sprayer and the other models in Koch-Chemie's range. The alkaline version is intended for neutral and alkaline liquids. The Acid Pressure Sprayer uses a different seal material for compatible acidic cleaners, while the Pressure Foam Sprayer is designed to produce foam rather than a conventional liquid spray.

The 1.5L capacity offers a useful balance between convenience and portability. It's large enough for a reasonable quantity of diluted cleaning solution without becoming unnecessarily cumbersome. As with any pressure sprayer, though, the manufacturer's maximum filling mark determines how much liquid can actually be added while leaving sufficient space for pressurisation.

After use, Koch-Chemie recommends releasing the pressure and rinsing the sprayer with warm water. It's a simple but important maintenance step, particularly when working with concentrated cleaning chemicals that could otherwise remain inside the pump or nozzle.

For us, this is the sort of practical accessory that makes regular detailing noticeably easier. The adjustable nozzle, alkaline-compatible seals and particularly the 360-degree spraying capability make it a versatile choice for those awkward cleaning jobs where an ordinary trigger bottle just doesn't quite cut it.

Key Features

 Spray Control
 9/10
 (Adjustable spray pattern)

 Operating Angle
 360°
 (Flexible suction hose)

 Seal Material
 EPDM
 (Neutral and alkaline media)

Description

The Koch-Chemie Pressure Sprayer Alkaline 1.5L is a robust manual pump sprayer developed for convenient application of compatible neutral and alkaline vehicle cleaning products.

Featuring specialist EPDM seals, an adjustable spray pattern and an innovative flexible suction hose, the sprayer can be operated through a full 360 degrees, including when inverted.
