Gyeon Q² Syncro is an ultra-durable quartz coating system that makes some of the chemical technologies hitherto restricted to the certified Gyeon detailer programme available to the general public for the very first time. Put simply, it is the most advanced paint protection system available on the open market today, and means that home enthusiasts and non-certified professional detailers now have access to the upper echelons of performance in the Gyeon coating range. In our opinion, this is very good news indeed! So, now that you can get hold of it, what benefits does the chemical technology in Gyeon Q² Syncro offer compared to standalone coatings? Well, firstly, by protecting the basecoat with a dedicated topcoat, long term durability is extended, and any susceptibility to water spotting and staining is virtually eliminated. Secondly, the topcoat itself imparts an unprecedented level of slickness and water repellency (hydrophobicity) to the finish, which results in a level of self-cleaning that has to be experienced to be believed. Even when they are impeccably maintained, none of the standalone coatings we currently stock last for as long or are as easy to clean and maintain as Gyeon Q² Syncro.
In addition to the self-cleaning properties described above, Gyeon Q² Syncro adds scratch resistance to treated surfaces and also provides excellent protection against bird droppings, bug splatter, road salt and harmful UV radiation (it is impervious to cleaning chemicals and pressure washing, and once fully cured can only be removed by machine polishing). We've tested its chemical resistance by subjecting it to a brutal decontamination test, in which selected panels were: (i) treated with a spirit-based tar remover; (ii) treated with a strong acid-based fallout remover; (iii) clayed with a mild clay bar, and; (iv) treated with neat isopropyl alcohol. The net effect of this treatment was to all intents and purposes negligible; the panels were left beading just as strongly as the day the system was first applied. With it being new to the market, we cannot confirm its durability yet, but based on the fact that a standalone multi-layer application of Gyeon Q² Mohs has a proven life expectancy of upwards of eighteen months, we're confident that upwards of twenty fours months will be readily achievable (as long as proper preparation is performed and the application process is conducted indoors).
The second product in the system, Gyeon Q² Skin, is a silicone-based topcoat. As a result of comprising a high proportion of organic components (hydrocarbons), this sacrificial topcoat subtly alters the look of the Gyeon Q² Mohs finish (by adding richness and gloss) and modifies its behaviour with respect to water. Whereas surfaces treated with Gyeon Q² Mohs become naturally water-hating (hydrophobic), the addition of Gyeon Q² Skin increases their slickness greatly, which causes rainfall and rinse water to bead up and sheet off even more quickly. This not only enhances the notable self-cleaning effect for which Gyeon Q² Mohs is famed, but also serves to reduce the risk of water spots forming during the first few weeks following application. Gyeon Q² Syncro is currently supplied as a pre-packed kit containing either a 50 ml or 100 ml bottle of Gyeon Q² Mohs, either a 30 ml or 50 ml bottle of Gyeon Q² Skin, a 100 ml bottle of Gyeon Q²M Cure, a Gyeon Q²M Applicator Block, eight Gyeon Q²M Applicator Suedes and an instruction booklet.

How To Use
You should apply Gyeon Q² Syncro in a dry place out of direct sunlight. In all cases, prepare the surfaces you are going to treat in the normal way (wash > decontaminate > polish), and then do a wipe down with Gyeon Q²M Prep to ensure that they are spotlessly clean. Next, using the supplied dropping pipette, lightly wet one of the supplied Gyeon Q²M Applicator Suedes with Gyeon Q² Mohs, wrap it around the supplied Gyeon Q²M Applicator Block and begin wiping it evenly on to the first panel, using light pressure and overlapping strokes. You should aim to treat no more than a single panel at a time, because after an initial volatilization period of 1-2 minutes you must then buff off the (still wet) residue as quickly as possible, i.e. before it begins to harden. Buffing off is best accomplished with a PB Super Buffing Towel using moderate speed and pressure in order to fully remove the residue and reveal an intense streak-free shine. Using a bright light, check the panel carefully for any smears and remove them before moving on; failure to remove smears fully can result in them hardening to the point of being impossible to remove without machine polishing, so make sure you are thorough!
After all panels are treated wait for a minimum of an hour and then apply a second coat. The car must then be left in a dry place out of direct sunlight for a minimum of 4 hours to allow these basecoat layers to harden (if you wish, you can accelerate this process by heating the treated panels to 60°C for 10 minutes using an infra-red heat lamp). Next, lightly wet one of the supplied Gyeon Q²M Applicator Suedes with Gyeon Q² Skin, wrap it around the supplied Gyeon Q²M Applicator Block and begin wiping it evenly on to the first panel, using light pressure and overlapping strokes. You should aim to treat no more than a single panel at a time, because after an initial volatilization period of 1-2 minutes you must then buff off the (still wet) residue as quickly as possible, i.e. before it begins to dry out. Buffing off is best accomplished with a PB Super Buffing Towel using moderate speed and pressure in order to fully remove the residue and reveal an intense streak-free shine. Using a bright light, check the panel carefully for any smears and remove them before moving on; failure to remove smears fully can result in them drying and out and becoming difficult to remove, so make sure you are thorough!
After all panels are treated the car must then be left in a dry place out of direct sunlight for a minimum of 12 hours to allow the coating system to harden further (if you wish, you can accelerate this process by heating the treated panels to 60°C for 10 minutes using an infra-red heat lamp). Finally, to further reduce the risk of water spots forming while it continues to cure (full curing takes around 14 days to achieve), you should apply a final topcoat of Gyeon Q²M Cure (you should also avoid washing the car with any kind of detergent for 7 days following application). Please note that you must discard all used applicators and towels after you've applied each coat of Gyeon Q² Mohs because it becomes extremely hard as it cures, forming a residue that has the potential to inflict severe marring or worse if applicators and towels are re-used. Furthermore, after each use you must also replace the dropping pipette with the air-tight cap, and wash out the pipette with hot running water. Failure to follow these steps will most likely result in any leftover product setting solid in the bottle and the dropping pipette, rendering them unusable in the future.
