Meguiar's Foam-Cut Compound (101)

£47.95

We Say

Meguiar's Foam-Cut Compound (101) delivers a monumental amount of cut in a very short amount of time, and is ideal for situations where extreme paint correction is required on hard paint types. Users should note that it is designed to work extremely quickly and therefore behaves differently to many rival compounds; any attempt to overwork it will result in excessive dusting and will also make its residue harder to buff off. Also worth reiterating is that it removes a lot of paint at a surprisingly rapid rate. You must therefore use it with extreme care, and ideally in conjunction with a paint thickness gauge, so that you can monitor the removal rate accurately (by taking paint thickness readings before and after each set).

Description

Meguiar's Foam-Cut Compound (101) is a fast-acting liquid abrasive designed to permanently remove severe paint defects such as deep scratches, sanding pigtails and extreme acid etching, and leave a superior high gloss finish ready for final refinement. Meguiar's Foam-Cut Compound (101) comprises an advanced blend of precision-milled non-diminishing micro-abrasives (Super Micro-Abrasive Technology, or SMAT for short), and offers significant advantages in terms of superior finish quality and reduced working time. Although it was originally designed for use with rotary polishers and foam pads, real world use has proven that it performs equally well with dual action polishers and microfibre pads.

How To Use

Meguiar's Foam-Cut Compound (101) should only be applied by machine. For best results using a dual action polisher, it should be applied to freshly decontaminated paint using either a Flexipads DA Microfibre Cutting Pad or a SCHOLL Concepts Spider Cutting Pad (on extremely hard paint finishes a SCHOLL Concepts Sandwich Spider Pad is also a great choice). Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18 x 18 area, and these should be worked in slowly with heavy downward pressure at around 4000-5000 orbits per minute (speed 4-5 on most dual action machine polishers) until only a thin film remains (this will be achieved in just 5-6 passes). This film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel and the finish should then be further refined using Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish (205).
