We Say
Allround Textile Sealant is what we recommend when you want genuine, functional protection on fabric — the kind that makes a convertible roof easier to live with, keeps seat fabric cleaner for longer, and stops spills turning into stains.
The key is that it protects without changing the textile’s character. Done correctly, it doesn’t leave a crunchy feel, visible coating, or “sprayed” appearance. It simply adds a repellent barrier that helps liquids bead and dirt release more easily during cleaning.
It’s the kind of product that pays off quietly over time: less marking, easier maintenance, and a much better chance of keeping fabric looking new.
Key Features
Description
Koch Chemie Colourlock Allround Textile Sealant is a premium textile proofer designed to protect fabrics against water, dirt and stains without impairing the look or feel of the material. The formula is water-based and free from solvents and fluorocarbon resins, making it suitable for both interior textiles (seats, carpets, mats) and exterior fabrics such as convertible roofs.
Once cured, the sealing components create an easy-to-clean effect that helps spills bead on the surface and reduces how quickly dirt bonds to fibres. Depending on textile type, wear and care, durability can be up to 24 months (often compared to up to 50 wash cycles at 30°C).
Preparation is everything with fabric proofers. For best results, deep-clean the textile first using a suitable cleaner, allow it to fully dry, then apply a thin, even wet film and work it into the fibres. Koch Chemie recommend cleaners such as Koch Chemie Pol Star or Koch Chemie MZR Mehrzweckreiniger as part of the preparation process.

How To Use
1) Clean thoroughly: Deep clean the textile and allow it to dry completely. The surface must be dry, clean and free from residues before sealing.
2) Mask off: Protect trims and surrounding surfaces you don’t want sealed (masking tape is ideal).
3) Apply thinly: Apply an even, thin wet film using a microfibre sponge, then work it into the fibres using a crosswise motion.
4) Dry & cure: Allow to dry fully. Recommended application temperature is between 10°C and 40°C. Full curing and performance can take up to 24 hours.
5) Aftercare: Clean sealed surfaces gently. If performance drops over time, you can refresh by reapplying (provided the textile isn’t heavily soiled).
