Enzo Ferrari Ne Plus Ultra

April 17th, 2012

After six years of working hard to firmly establish our reputation, we’ve finally been rewarded with our first ever hypercar detail; a no holds barred Ne Plus Ultra on a 2003 Rosso Corsa Enzo Ferrari. With just over 7k km on the clock and mechanically excellent, the only thing letting the car down was the state of the bodywork, which showed all of the classic signs of many years of improper washing and maintenance. Ferrari paint is usually quite soft on pre-2005 cars, but early on in the detail it became apparent that the paint on the Enzo was rock hard and was going to need compounding with wool if a near perfect result was going to be achieved. Ultimately just over 144 hours were required to complete the detail, with more than 96 hours of this time being spent carefully machine polishing the bodywork to near perfect condition. To celebrate this detail we have made a short film for you to enjoy. It is obviously impossible to show everything that was done to the car in just six and a half minutes, but we do hope that it gives you a flavour of the effort we put into our work and the breathtaking thing of beauty that is an Enzo Ferrari.

Viewing notes: Due to the length and high definition quality of the film, we recommend that you pause playback immediately and then allow it to pre-load completely before watching it. If it still does not play perfectly smoothly, try watching it on a more powerful playback device, or else turn HD off and watch it in SD instead. The sound quality used is equally good as the 1080p footage, so if you are able to play the film through a cinema surround sound system or through good quality headphones you will enjoy it all the more!

Bentley Arnage Studio Photography

March 19th, 2010

Another month, another Ne Plus Ultra detail. Bookings for our flagship detailing service have been growing steadily since its launch back in 2008, and this year we are very pleased to have completed two 150+ hour details already. This time round it was the turn of a four year old solid black Bentley Arnage to receive the Ne Plus Ultra treatment, and it soon proved to be our most testing challenge yet, requiring over 104 hours of paint correction work alone. As per usual, the entire process was photographed and recorded in HD, and at some point in the next couple of months when the spring rush is over we will produce another HD video feature for the blog. However, in the meantime we thought this would be a good opportunity to briefly show off another side of the Ne Plus Ultra service; studio photography.

Ferrari 355 F1 Berlinetta Ne Plus Ultra

January 26th, 2010

January is usually a slow and steady month at Polished Bliss, but this was not the case this year due to the exceptional amount of snow that fell early in the month. Not only did the snow disrupt order dispatch for over a week, but several customers were also unable to bring their cars into us for detailing services to be performed. This necessitated some painful reorganisation of our diary, but fortunately we were still able to squeeze in the Ferrari 355 F1 Berlinetta shown in the video below. Just over ten years old with 22k on the clock and mechanically excellent, the only thing letting the car down was the state of the bodywork, which showed all of the classic signs of many years of improper washing and maintenance. Ferrari paint is usually quite soft on pre-2005 cars, so we originally allocated four days to complete a major paint correction detail. However, early on in the detail it became apparent that front and rear end cosmetic resprays had left a rock hard finish that was going to require substantially more work if a near perfect result was going to be achieved. In light of this, the detail was upgraded to full Ne Plus Ultra status and ultimately more than 112 hours were spent restoring the bodywork to near perfect condition.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Ne Plus Ultra

November 23rd, 2009

In the last ever news article on our old website we reported that on Sunday 19th July this year we attended the Grampian Transport Museum’s Motorvation event in Alford in the role of event sponsor. Motorvation serves as an annual gathering for petrolheads from across the northeast of Scotland, and always sees a nice mix of supercars and cherished classics turn up for a day of club parades and trackday fun. This year was no exception and, fortunately for us, it just so happened that we had a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 in for a Ne Plus Ultra detail in the run up to the event. The owner very kindly agreed to let us take his car along as a demonstrator for our stand, and it is fair to say that it attracted a lot of attention. However, in fairness, after 110 hours of work over 10 days, we were expecting nothing less! During the course of the detail we captured over 10 hours of HD quality video footage, which we have now edited down into our first ever presentation feature. Without any further ado, we are proud to present Ne Plus Ultra the movie…
