Auto Finesse Desire Demo Video

For the benefit of anyone with hearing difficulties, here is the audio transcript in full; if there is anything else we can do to make our videos more accessible, please don’t hesitate to let us know…

“Hello, this is Rich at Polished Bliss, and in this video I’m going to tell you a little bit about Auto Finesse Desire, which is set to be one of the most exciting new wax releases of 2012.

Desire is the new flagship product in the Auto Finesse range and, as you would expect, is packed to the rafters with pure Brazilian No.1 carnauba wax, essential oils and other deliciously scented fruit extracts. Like its forbearer, Spirit, it produces an intensively rich, dripping wet, high gloss finish with excellent water beading characteristics.

Although it will vary slightly from car to car, a lifespan in excess of six months per application is realistically achievable under typical UK driving conditions, even on cars used as daily drivers, and this can be extended further if it is layered from the outset.

Like all high quality carnauba waxes, Desire gives best results if it is applied by hand to properly prepared paint. In this example, we are going to use Auto Finesse Tripple to mask minor wash marring and lay down a glossy, oil-rich, basecoat for the wax to bond to…

With the paint now primed, we are going to apply Desire to no more than one or two panels at a time, and as thinly and evenly as possible, using a soft foam applicator pad. As you can see, only a light dab of the pad is required to liberate enough wax to treat each panel.

With a couple of panels done, we are now going to buff off the residual wax film using a plush microfibre towel, which will be refolded regularly to prevent clogging. There is no need to allow the film to dry fully before it is removed, as to do so makes it harder to buff off.

Words never really do justice to the finishes that high quality carnauba waxes produce, so I’m going to stop talking now and let you take a minute to enjoy the finish that Desire gives in glorious high definition.

I hope you enjoyed that as much as we did. Desire is a fantastic wax, and priced very reasonably too, which is a real bonus given the times we live in. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch using the details provided on the contact us page of our website.”

  1. “So I’m going to stop talking now…” – Haha… what better way to demonstrate a decent quality paste wax than on a sexy F430 rear quarter panel!

Hi there, indeed a must have product for me to have in my collection. I recently bought Auto Finesse Tough Coat from you guys and for sure I am satisfied with its use. Did you try Tough Coat on top of Desire? Any reviews about it will be highly appreciated.

  3. @Man and Van Guildford – Tough Coat is fine to use beneath Desire (as a durable basecoat) but not on top – this is because waxes always go over sealants, not the other way around (waxes bond to sealants just fine, but sealants will not bond to waxes properly – only other sealants and bare paint). So, Tough Coat first, then Desire – never the other way around.

Buying a pot of Desire was a really hard decision to make, but one I am very happy with. It looks great, beads water beautifully and lasts. I think that the way it is going one pot will allow 20-30 applications so it only works out at £4 to £6 two or three times a year. Compare that to faded panels, etching and the time to reapply a less durable wax it offers great value for money.

  5. Thanks for all of your comments Jon. You’ve really hit the nail on the head with this one – the value for money that Desire offers is simply staggering. Just a few years ago equivalent options (in terms of performance) from the leading luxury brands would have set you back hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds more – I remember the days when we charged customers for applying high-spec waxes simply because they were unaffordable individual purchases. With the release of Desire, all of this changed and now we apply it for free and customers are able to buy an affordable top up pot for themselves. Now that’s what you call progress!
