Porsche 911 (996) GT3 Club Sport Correction Detail

December 7th, 2011

This video shows the results of a Correction Detail performed on a 2005 Porsche 911 (996) GT3 Club Sport in our studio in Kintore. The total work time was 40 hours and the car was finished with Swissvax Crystal Rock. We hadn’t originally planned to share this video, as it was only made to learn new editing methods in readiness for features we plan to produce next year (it was created entirely from still images taken with a Canon 60D DSLR; all of the pans and zooms were created digitally in Adobe Premiere Pro). However, we were so delighted with the end result that we decided to share it!

While the car looks great, this is not really a video! What is the point in posting a video that is really just a slideshow of pictures? You would be as well just posting the pictures, then people would not have to pause to look at one for longer! Pointless. Actual videos would be good.

  2. Hi Joe, the simple answer to your question is why not? There are many different ways of presenting visual material to people, and we aren’t afraid to experiment with new ideas – you can’t please everyone all of the time! The original purpose of this video was simply to learn new technqiues ready for features that we are going to shoot next year (which will involve mixtures of actual video, time-lapse and still images, and which will involve the use of digital panning and zooming, as shown here), but we were so happy with the result that we decided to share it. Hopefully some of the new features we make next year will tick your boxes and be more useful to you. That said, even actual video of a finished car wouldn’t be much different to that posted above! Great job. I know it’s a little hard to record on a camera a detailing job, pictures are more easy. The movie is great.

Awesome job. The car looks exactly like a new 911. 40 hours is a very short time to achieve that kind of results. I can imagine the amount of work to fix the paint imperfections, clean the engine & interior and you probably applied few layers of protection too (I’m guessing sealant). Hats off.

  5. Excellent work, even better than new I suspect! I’m not usually a fan of Porkers in red but this does look very tasty under your lights.

Excellent work, how many miles had it done? Looks fantastic.

  7. From memory, just over 15k. Thanks for all of the kind words above; the paint was protected with Swissvax Crystal Rock.

I had my Guards Red GT3 Gen2 detailed by PB soon after this car was done. I saw the photos of the work on this car and was happy to leave my car in the knowledge that it was it great hands. It’s a bit like leaving your child with a babysitter for the first time, but when you come back and see the results you are just so glad you did!

My car was pristine and the depth of the paintwork had to be seen to be believed. I am also glad that I have a CD of images to serve as a record of the work. I could not recommend PB highly enough as I’m sure many already have… what they do, both on this site and actually in their unit in Kintore is second to none, that is for sure.

It’s great to read the new articles and see the new products to try out, I’m making up a new list of their goodies to buy, it’s an illness once you are bitten!

  9. Hi Terry, many thanks for the kind words, it’s always great to receive such positive feedback about our work. Best regards, Rich.
