Werkstat Prime Strong

Werkstat Prime Strong blurs the line between polishes and sealants, since it has tremendous cleaning and light polishing properties but also lays down a layer of durable sealant protection. As a result it is a true one step product, and is used frequently in our studio to chemically clean and protect door shuts, engine bay components, exhaust tips, aluminium and chrome trims, high gloss plastics and even exterior glass.

In a single application, Werkstat Prime Strong draws out deep-seated dirt and grime and simultaneously lays down very tough acrylic polymers to form a highly durable elastic sealing layer. We are always amazed at just how much additional dirt and grime Werkstat Prime Strong draws out of painted surfaces; brand new pure white microfibre applicator pads turn grey every single time we use it, even after extremely thorough decontamination.

A further benefit of the intensely smooth and level coating laid down by Werkstat Prime Strong is the finish it gives, which is best described by mirror-like reflectivity, razor sharp clarity and, on metallic and pearlescent finishes, the most intense degree of flake pop imaginable. In summary, Werkstat Prime Strong is a truly exceptional one step product that cleans intensively and also lays a tough coat of acrylic polymer protection.

Werkstat Prime Strong is neither a polish nor a polymer sealant nor a wax, but a combination of powerful cleaning and conserving agents that work together systematically to clean and protect treated surfaces. The exclusive German-made formula represents over four decades of research and development in paint protection chemistry, and all of the experience that entails.

The unique formula builds on the exceptional Werkstat Prime Acrylic formula by incorporating an even higher concentration of polyethylene-acrylic nano-scale polymers and higher strength intensive surface cleaners capable of addressing minor paint imperfections. By using nano-scale polymers, an unparalleled surface coating density is achieved that greatly improves resistance to environmental factors, such as heat, acid and ultraviolet radiation, and mechanical damage, such as wash-induced marring and scratching.

As a further benefit, the ultra-smooth surface coating ensures that low-angle incident light is brilliantly reflected to produce mirror-like images, while the high refractive index of the polymers allows high-angle light to refract into the finish and maximise its beauty. In fact, the light transmittance of the coating laid down by Werkstat Prime Strong actually exceeds that of optical glass, thus ensuring that the beauty of treated surfaces will stand out with unobstructed clarity.

Werkstat Prime Strong can be applied equally well by hand or dual action machine. For best results by hand, it should be applied to freshly clayed paint using a Meguiar’s Microfibre Applicator Pad. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be wiped in as firmly and evenly as possible to produce a film that should then be allowed to dry for up to 10 minutes. Once hazed over, this film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel (if the film proves difficult to remove at first, lightly mist it with Werkstat Acrylic Glos and continue buffing).

For best results using a dual action polisher, Werkstat Prime Strong should be applied to freshly clayed paint using a Lake Country 140 mm Constant Pressure Glazing Pad. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be worked in thoroughly at around 3000-4000 orbits per minute (speed 3-4 on most dual action machine polishers) until only a thin film remains. After being allowed to haze over for up to 10 minutes, this film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel (if the film proves difficult to remove at first, lightly mist it with Werkstat Acrylic Glos and continue buffing).
