Marred ceramic nano-particle and scratch-resistant finishes can be difficult to correct, even if the defects appear to be light. Why? Because such paints are physically very hard, and normal abrasive polishes often struggle to cut them sufficiently. SCHOLL Concepts S17+ solves this problem by using diamond-hard aluminium-oxide diminishing abrasives, which cut strongly to begin with, meaning that you'll correct light to moderate defects in no time at all. However, these abrasives then break down quickly to form a polishing rouge that begins to refine the finish. Consequently, it's often possible to correct and refine in a single step, particularly when using long-throw dual action polishers. That said, in cases where time is not pressing, following up with an ultra-fine finishing polish such as SCHOLL Concepts S30+ or SCHOLL Concepts S40 will improve the finish further.
SCHOLL Concepts S17+ is a highly versatile cutting compound designed for light to moderate correction work on modern ceramic nano-particle and scratch-resistant clearcoats (although it also produces great results on conventional paint finishes too). SCHOLL Concepts S17+ uses intelligent Powder Technology (iPT) abrasives that break down quickly in use to form a progressively finer polishing residue. As a result, the level of cut on offer diminishes quickly from that of a light cutting compound to that of a finishing polish, meaning that it's often possible to correct and refine the finish in a single step. To aid this process, SCHOLL Concepts S17+ features advanced lubricants that maximise its efficiency, while its filler-free formula ensures that defect removal is permanent rather than temporary.
You can use SCHOLL Concepts S17+ by hand or machine, although for best results we recommend the latter. By hand, apply SCHOLL Concepts S17+ with a SCHOLL Concepts Polishing Puck. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per 12" x 12" area. You should work it as firmly and evenly as possible until only a thin residue remains. Buff off the residue carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel.
For best results using a dual action polisher, you should work SCHOLL Concepts S17+ with either a SCHOLL Concepts 135 mm Spider Cutting Pad, a SCHOLL Concepts 135 mm Premium Cutting Pad or a SCHOLL Concepts 135 mm Spider Polishing Pad. Once the pad is well primed, only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18" x 18" area. After spreading, work it thoroughly at 4000-5000 orbits per minute (speed 4-5 on most dual action machine polishers), applying moderate pressure for the first 90 seconds or so, and then progressively lighter pressure for a further 90 seconds or so. Once done, buff off the final residue carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel.
For best results using a rotary polisher, you should work SCHOLL Concepts S17+ using either a SCHOLL Concepts 135 mm Spider Cutting Pad, a SCHOLL Concepts 135 mm Premium Cutting Pad or a SCHOLL Concepts 135 mm Spider Polishing Pad. Once the pad is well primed, only 1-2 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18" x 18" area. You should work it thoroughly at 1200-1800 revolutions per minute (speed 3-4 on most rotary polishers), applying moderate pressure for the first 45 seconds or so, and then progressively lighter pressure for a further 45 seconds or so. Once done, buff off the final residue carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel.
