R222 Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser
It is universally accepted that to maximise the effectiveness of an automotive wax coating, you must properly prepare the painted surfaces to be treated first. Over time, it is not unusual for automotive paint finishes to become slightly rough to the touch. Such roughness is caused by the gradual build up of surface contaminants that are too firmly bonded to be removed by normal washing alone. You can easily check for the presence of such contaminants by washing and rinsing your car thoroughly and then running your fingertips over the wet panels. Can you feel rough spots or a gritty texture? If so, then you need to clean your paint before waxing using R222 Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser. You'll be amazed at how quickly this product removes bonded surface contaminants and restores a perfectly smooth, high gloss finish ready for a concours winning wax application.
R222 Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser is a non-abrasive chemical polish and glaze that does away with the need for separate decontamination and glazing steps. It is designed to remove bonded surface contaminants (such as industrial fallout and bug splatter) and dramatically enhance gloss in order to create the illusion that paint is dripping wet ahead of an application of premium wax protection. During the application process, advanced chemical cleaning agents strip away any residual grime and old layers of sealant or wax protection, while kaolin clay particles and glazing oils visually reduce the extent of wash marring and minor swirl marks by filling such defects and robbing sunlight of sharp edges off of which to reflect.
R222 Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser can be applied equally well by hand or using a dual action polisher. For best results by hand, it should be applied using a Meguiar’s Microfibre Applicator Pad. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be worked in using light to moderate pressure to produce a film that should then be allowed to dry for up to 10 minutes. Once hazed over, this film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel. For best results using a dual action polisher, R222 Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser should be applied using a Lake Country 140 mm Constant Pressure Glazing Pad. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be worked in thoroughly at around 3000-4000 orbits per minute (speed 3-4 on most dual action machine polishers) until only a thin film remains. After being allowed to haze over for up to 10 minutes, this film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel.
