It is universally accepted that to maximise the effectiveness of an automotive wax coating, you must properly prepare the painted surfaces to be treated first. Over time, it is not unusual for automotive paint finishes to become slightly rough to the touch. Such roughness is caused by the gradual build up of surface contaminants that are too firmly bonded to be removed by normal washing alone. You can easily check for the presence of such contaminants by washing and rinsing your car thoroughly and then running your fingertips over the wet panels. Can you feel rough spots or a gritty texture? If so, then you need to clean your paint before waxing using R222 Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser. You'll be amazed at how quickly this product removes bonded surface contaminants and restores a perfectly smooth, high gloss finish ready for a concours winning wax application.

R222 100% Carnauba Wax has been ruthlessly developed to offer the purest carnauba available on the market today, with the total wax content being made up entirely of pure Brazilian No. 1 yellow carnauba wax. Like its concours winning forbearer, R222 100% Carnauba Wax contains no abrasives, additives, dyes or perfumes, and delivers a jaw dropping finish characterised by incredible richness and a level of liquidity that looks like you could almost swim in it. In our experience, a lifespan of up to two months per application on a daily driver is readily achievable in the UK, meaning that topping up is required on a regular basis. In terms of suitability, we recommend using R222 100% Carnauba Wax on all solid-coloured finishes due to the richness and liquidity it imparts, although in all honesty it delivers a fantastic looking finish on most colours. Yet another deeply impressive factory approved wax product from R222!
Step 1 – R222 Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser

R222 Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser should be applied using the supplied Meguiar’s Microfibre Applicator Pad. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be worked in using light to moderate pressure to produce a film that should then be allowed to dry for up to 10 minutes. Once hazed over, this film should then be buffed off carefully using one of the supplied Poorboy’s Deluxe Mega Towels.

Step 2 – R222 100% Carnauba Wax

R222 100% Carnauba Wax should be applied one panel at a time and as thinly and evenly as possible using the supplied foam applicator pad; in this case less is definitely more. The resulting film should then be buffed off immediately using one of the supplied Poorboy’s Deluxe Mega Towels; the film is designed to be taken off whilst still wet and must not be allowed to dry fully.

Care instructions for applicators and towels

(i) wash after each use in a washing machine at a low temperature (40 °C) using a non-biological liquid detergent (avoid soap powders and detergents containing bleach or fabric softeners); (ii) allow to dry naturally on a line or tumble dry on a cool heat setting (avoid radiators and other sources of high heat), and; (iii) store in a dry, dust-free environment whilst not in use (lidded plastic storage boxes are ideal in this respect).
