It's always enjoyable when older supercars are brought in to be restored to their former glory, and this Ferrari 348 TS was no exception. Whilst generally clean and tidy, this lovely example was suffering from widespread moderate to severe paint defects, mainly in the form of swirl marks and deeper random scratches. Our normal approach to correcting such defects is to cut the paint back hard as part of a Major Paint Correction Detail. However, in this case the presence of localised sub-surface corrosion on many of the aluminium panels necessitated that a more cautious approach was adopted, with some areas only being partially corrected in order to prevent the corrosion from blistering any further. Notwithstanding this limitation, the effect of polishing the paint properly was dramatic, and restored not only a sharp wet looking finish, but also greatly enhanced the appearance of the metallic flake. With the paint corrected to the highest possible standard, a coat of a bespoke premium carnauba wax was then applied to seal and protect the finish. The sumptuous interior was then fully cleansed and dressed, and the remaining exterior details attended to before the car was handed back to the owner.
