Our Portfolio > Audi RS4 Avant

Sadly it is becoming increasingly common for brand new cars to be spoilt by poor preparation at dealerships prior to handover. This is unacceptable in all cases, but quite frankly unbelievable in the case of prestige and performance cars. In this case the RS4 shown below had less than a hundred miles on the clock when it was dropped off with us, but the bodywork was already in a terrible state, with plenty of bonded transport contaminants on the roof and bonnet, and heavy swirl marks and deeper random scratches afflicting all of the major panels. After carefully washing and claying the car, we moved it inside for what ended up being over 12 hours of paint correction work. Most of the defects responded well to simple machine polishing, but those on the near side wing required more intensive wetsanding in order to be fully corrected. With the bodywork restored to perfection, we protected the freshly polished surfaces with a bespoke premium carnauba wax. The engine and interior were then fully cleansed and dressed, and the remaining exterior details attended to. This work was undertaken as the initial Minor Paint Correction Detail under a Bi-Monthly Maintenance Plan, which will ensure that the car remains in perfect condition over the coming twelve months.

Newly delivered from the dealership...   with a light covering of brake dust...   product residue covering the trims...   ...and some fairly serious paint defects!   The first task was to carefully wash the car...

...and clay the bodywork to remove transport contaminants.   Under the lights inside the defects were even easier to see...   and comprised heavy swirl marks caused by sponge washing...   ...and deeper random scratches caused by wipe drying.   Our preferred tools for correcting such defects.

These swirl marks turned out to be very deep...   and could not be fully corrected using just the machine...   so we resorted to carefully wetsanding the affected area...   ...in order to restore a 100% flawless finish.   The bodywork was then lovingly protected...

with a bespoke premium carnauba wax...   in order to form a barrier against the elements...   and make the freshly machine polished finish...   ...look as glossy and reflective as possible.   The wheels were then sealed and the tyres dressed...

the engine bay was dressed with an aerospace protectant...   the carbon fibre trims were polished and sealed...   ...and the interior vacuumed and leather fed.   The car was then moved into the sun for a final check.   Upon collecting his newly acquired pride and joy...

the owner was extremely relieved to find...   his bodywork restored to flawless condition...   and the car looking significantly better...   ...than when it had first rolled out of the showroom.
