PB Advanced Wash Kit

Our Advanced Car Wash Kit offers all of the products you need to wash your car and wheels safely and effectively; simply use it in conjunction with the two bucket wash method and a pressure washer for best results. To minimise the risk of inflicting marring and fine scratches during the washing process, we recommend using the ultra-soft Meguiar's Lambswool Wash Mitt to gently clean all bodywork and glass, while the harder wearing Meguiar's Microfibre Wash Mitt should be used for tougher tasks such as washing wheels and scrubbing the insides of wheel arches. Drying off after washing is perhaps the most risky part of the whole wash process. After trying out various methods and products, we have come to the conclusion that the only way to dry off safely is to use a microfibre drying towel in conjunction with the pat drying method. Our Luxury Drying Towel is highly absorbent and ultra-soft, which makes it ideal for this task.

Wheels are undoubtedly the hardest parts of cars to keep clean, particularly during the winter when the roads are dirty and washing is often overlooked. Auto Finesse Imperial is a concentrated wheel cleaner that offers an excellent level of cleaning performance, yet it does not rely on strong acids to achieve this. This makes it ideal for regular use on clearcoated rims, and in particular on high performance cars whose wheels are prone to build ups of brake dust that normal shampoo struggles to shift. Note that this product is not a spray-on/hose-off cleaner. It is designed to be sprayed on, allowed to dwell and then agitated with either the PB Wheel Woolies or the Meguiar's Microfibre Wash Mitt before being rinsed off. A tougher product is often called for in order to shift bug splatter and clean out dirty wheel arches properly and there is none finer than Auto Finesse Citrus Power. This intensive all purpose cleaner is one of the most powerful cleaning products on the market today yet remains completely safe for use on all painted, plastic, vinyl, rubber and metal surfaces. The combination of an advanced detergent formula with a powerful citrus solvent adds up to unmatched cleaning power and makes it ideal for removing tough deposits that ordinary car wash products just cannot seem to shift.

Finally, the choice of shampoo is also paramount to safe and effective washing. A car shampoo needs to be sufficiently slick to allow your wash mitt to glide over underlying surfaces and also needs to emulsify and encapsulate dirt particles so that they can be wiped away without causing any surface marring. A car shampoo should also be gentle enough not to strip or otherwise degrade existing layers of sealant or wax protection. Care instructions for wash mitts and drying towels:

(i) wash after each use in a washing machine at a low temperature (40 °C) using a non-biological liquid detergent (avoid soap powders and detergents containing bleach or fabric softeners); (ii) hang up and allow to dry naturally (avoid all sources of heat), and; (iii) store in a dry, dust-free environment whilst not in use (lidded plastic storage boxes are ideal in this respect).
