If you are a highly experienced enthusiast or professional detailer looking to purchase the best rotary polishing kit currently available on the market then look no further, as this package combines the legendary Makita 9227CB Rotary Machine Polisher with a comprehensive set of rotary specific Lake Country pads and state of the art Meguiar's polishes, plus a raft of essential rotary polishing accessory products too. In our experience, many detailers making the transition into rotary polishing often make the mistake of buying too few pads and accessories, and then end up being caught out on a job when things do not go as planned. We suggest that it is better to kit yourself out properly from the outset, as then you only have to worry about correcting the defects in front of you, as opposed to worrying about whether you have the right equipment with you to correct the defects in front of you. A subtle distinction for sure, but having been caught out ourselves in the past, we now know better and always keep a huge range of pads and accessories to hand, just in case!
Rotary polishing is a specialist paint rectification process that requires a significant amount of hands on training to properly master and should not be attempted until sufficient experience has been gained through practice on scrap panels. Furthermore, because it usually involves a relatively high degree of paint removal, it should only ever be undertaken in conjunction with a properly calibrated paint thickness gauge. For these reasons, we suggest that anyone wishing to learn how to use a rotary polisher properly seeks professional training in the first instance, as there is a limit to what can be learnt by reading online and, in our opinion, rotary polishing falls well beyond it.

General usage notes for machine polishing pads:

(i) always select the least aggressive pad you think you will need to achieve the desired result, and step up one grade at a time if more cut is required (ii) always ensure that you centre each pad properly on the backing plate (this can take several attempts to get right, but is vital if the machine is to remain perfectly balanced during use); (iii) always use an appropriate sized pad for the backing plate you are using (the pad should always protrude past the edge of the backing plate, never the other way around); (iv) always ensure that spent polish residue on the face of the pad is brushed off regularly during use using the supplied Meguiar’s Triple Duty Detailing Brush (failure to follow this advice can lead to micromarring of the finish, so don’t be lazy!); (v) after use, soak each pad in a bucket of the supplied Lake Country Snappy Pad Cleaner solution for 15 minutes and then rinse under fresh running water (using your fingertips to massage out any remaining polish residue) and allow to dry naturally, and; (vi) whilst not in use, store in a dry, dust-free environment (lidded plastic storage boxes are ideal in this respect).
Due to the complexity of this kit we are unable to provide a meaningful summary specification. Please see the product pages linked in the ‘Description’ tab for individual product specifications.
