Flexipads DA Microfibre Cutting Discs enable users of dual action polishers to achieve rotary-like levels of cutting performance without the treacherous learning curve and risks usually associated with rotary polishing. Featuring a special type of microfibre material laminated to a supportive foam backing, these discs enable moderate to heavy paint defects to be removed quickly and easily when used in conjunction with Meguiar's DA Microfibre Correction Compound. Flexipads DA Microfibre Cutting Discs are sized to fit the backing plates found on most popular dual action machines, including RUPES BigFoot polishers, and are fully washable, meaning they can be reused many times over. The feel of these discs takes a little bit of getting used to, but once you are comfortable with them you'll really appreciate the performance benefits they offer when performing heavy correction work.
Flexipads DA Microfibre Cutting Discs bridge the gap between dual action and rotary polishing in terms of cutting performance and safety. They achieve this using a special microfibre material, which generates the extra cut required to give rotary-like levels of performance using a dual action machine. Much like wool pads in the context of rotary use, these microfibre discs cut harder than traditional foam pads, yet still finish down equally well. Flexipads DA Microfibre Cutting Discs work particularly well with Meguiar's DA Microfibre Correction Compound, but can also be used with other microfibre-compatible compounds too. The long, soft, black-coloured microfibre pile sits atop a thicker, medium-density, flexible polyurethane foam layer that offers excellent support and feel. A durable hook and loop backing material features on the reverse, enabling quick and easy disc changes during use.
General usage notes: (i) always select the least aggressive pad you think you will need to achieve the desired result, and step up one grade at a time if more cut is required (ii) always ensure that you centre each pad properly on the backing plate (this can take several attempts to get right, but is vital if the machine is to remain perfectly balanced during use); (iii) always use an appropriate sized pad for the backing plate you are using (the pad should always protrude past the edge of the backing plate, never the other way around); (iv) always ensure that excess polish residue on the face of the pad is brushed off regularly during use using a PB Utility Brush (failure to follow this advice can lead to micromarring of the finish, so don't be lazy!); (v) after use, soak each pad in a bucket of Lake Country Snappy Pad Cleaner solution for 15 minutes and then rinse under fresh running water (using your fingertips to massage out any remaining polish residue) and allow to dry naturally, and; (vi) whilst not in use, store in a dry, dust-free environment (lidded plastic storage boxes are ideal in this respect).
