This flagship nanotechnology kit from Nanolex contains everything you need to prepare, protect and maintain matt effect bodywork for upwards of six months at a time. The initial wash should be performed with Nanolex MATTE Reactivating Shampoo. This is an oil-free shampoo that removes loose dirt and grime from matt surfaces without adding any gloss. Preparation is then tackled with Nanolex EX. This is an alcohol-based chemical cleaning agent that safely strips unwanted oils and residual grime. Protection is then added with Nanolex MATTE Spray Sealant. This is an enthusiast-friendly nanotechnology coating that offers long lasting protection and enhanced water repellency without degrading the underlying matt effect. Developed in Germany, it forms a fully transparent microfilm that not only protects against bird droppings, bug splatter, brake dust and harmful UV radiation, but which also beads very strongly and thus partially mimics the self-cleaning properties of Lotus leaves in nature (the Lotus Effect). Maintenance should be performed on a regular basis thereafter with Nanolex MATTE Final Finish (after routine washing and drying first). This is an oil-free quick detailing spray that removes fresh contamination and water spotting without degrading the matt effect or stripping the protective microfilm.
Step 1 – Nanolex MATTE Reactivating Shampoo
For best results, use at a dilution rate of 400:1 (water:product), which equates to 40 ml in a PB Clear Wash Bucket (the supplied bottle contains enough shampoo for approximately 18 washes). Simply add the correct amount of shampoo to your suds bucket and then fill it to the top with a stream of warm water, stirring it as you do so. If your water pressure is low and relatively few suds are produced, blast a little cold water into the bucket with your hose or pressure washer (making sure that you submerge the nozzle first); this will generate more suds.
Step 2 - Nanolex EX
Nanolex EX should be applied in a well-ventilated space out of direct sunlight. To protect your skin, we recommend wearing PB Nitrile Gloves during the application process. For best results, lightly mist Nanolex EX over small sections at a time (up to 18" x 18" square) and then immediately buff it off using one of the supplied Nanolex Microfibre Buffing Towels.
Step 3 - Nanolex MATTE Spray Sealant
Nanolex MATTE Spray Sealant should be applied in a warm, dry, well-ventilated space out of direct sunlight. To protect your skin, we recommend wearing PB Nitrile Gloves during the application process. Before applying the coating, shake the bottle vigorously to ensure that the contents are fully mixed. Next, lightly wet one of the supplied Nanolex Cotton Applicator Pads with product and begin wiping it evenly over the surfaces to be treated. The resulting film should be left to dry for no longer than 10 minutes before being buffed off with one of the supplied Nanolex Microfibre Buffing Towels, so we recommend treating no more than 3-4 panels in one go. The coating must then be allowed to cure for a minimum of 2 hours before being exposed to the elements (please note that you should avoid washing the car for a minimum of 72 hours following application).
Step 4 - Nanolex MATTE Final Finish
For best results, lightly mist Nanolex MATTE Final Finish over small sections at a time (it is safe for use on all matt effect surfaces) and immediately wipe it down to spread a thin, even film of product using one of the supplied Nanolex Microfibre Buffing Towels. Then, refold the towel and gently buff the area down to remove the film and reveal a perfect streak-free finish.
Care instructions for applicators and towels
(i) discard cotton applicators after use; (ii) wash microfibre towels after each use in a washing machine at a low temperature (40°C) using a non-biological liquid detergent (avoid soap powders and detergents containing bleach or fabric softeners); (iii) allow microfibre towels to dry naturally on a line or tumble dry on a cool heat setting (avoid radiators and other sources of high heat), and; (iv) store unused cotton applicators and clean microfibre towels in a dry, dust-free environment while not in use (lidded plastic storage boxes are ideal in this respect).
