Mirka Abralon Sanding Discs
Mirka Abralon Sanding Discs comprise a unique multi-functional patented sanding material that leaves a smooth, even sanding haze that can usually be polished out by machine quickly and easily. Because these discs are soft and flexible, they are ideal for use over broad areas and profiled surfaces where adaptable downward pressure is required, such as when flatting back entire panels to remove orange peel from original factory finishes.
Mirka Abralon Sanding Discs comprise a unique multi-functional patented sanding material developed for the flexible sanding of both smooth and profiled surfaces. In use they leave a smooth sanding pattern that polishes out easily, while the flexible nature of the material minimises the risk of leaving any pressure marks. The flexible weave allows water and air to pass freely, making these discs suitable for both dry and wetsanding, either by hand or dual action machine. Two different grades of disc are currently available in two different sizes.
Wetsanding is a specialist paint rectification process that requires a significant amount of hands on training to properly master, and should not be attempted until sufficient experience has been gained through practice on scrap panels. Furthermore, because it usually involves a relatively high degree of paint removal, it should only ever be undertaken in conjunction with a properly calibrated paint thickness gauge. For these reasons, we suggest that anyone wishing to learn how to wetsand seeks professional training in the first instance, as there is a limit to what can be learnt by reading online and, in our opinion, wetsanding falls well beyond it.
