If you asked most professional detailers to write down a wish list of features for an aggressive cutting compound, they'd likely list the following points: high cut level; well lubricated; long working time; no dust; no fillers. Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 (FG400) embodies this set of features and is nothing short of a revelation. It cuts paint back quickly and easily, produces very little dust and does not hide residual defects. These characteristics are a welcome break from the norm, and make Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 (FG400) one of the very best aggressive cutting compounds currently on the market. Our only caveat is that it removes a lot of paint in a very short space of time, and must therefore be used with extreme care.
Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 (FG400) is an aggressive professional cutting compound. It cuts paint back quickly and easily, and is thus ideal for tackling deep scratches and severe acid etching. Unlike many cutting compounds, it also finishes down well to give a sharp, high gloss finish that, in most cases, needs only minor refining with a finishing polish afterwards. Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 (FG400) uses coarse precision-milled diminishing abrasives suspended in a base of lubricating oils. Like its siblings, it contains no fillers of any kind. Although designed with scratch-resistant clearcoats in mind, it's also suitable for use on conventional hard paint finishes in situations where maximum cut is required.
Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 (FG400) should only be applied by machine. For best results using a dual action polisher, Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 (FG400) should be applied to freshly decontaminated paint using either a Lake Country Hydro-Tech Cutting Pad or a SCHOLL Concepts Spider Cutting Pad (on extremely hard paint finishes a SCHOLL Concepts Sandwich Spider Pad is also a great choice). Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18" x 18" area, and these should be worked in thoroughly at 4000-5000 orbits per minute (speed 4-5 on most dual action polishers) until only a thin oily residue remains. This residue should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel.
