Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish (#205)
Meguiar's are one of the world's largest and most respected manufacturers of automotive polishing products, and we have been users of their products for longer than we ourselves have been in business. If you ever take a look at their website, you will be amazed at the sheer range of specialist polishing products they have available, many of which reflect the high degree of innovation that Meguiar's brings to the marketplace. At the start of 2009, Meguiar's released a brand new finishing polish that has once again moved the game on and set a new standard of excellence in the marketplace. In simple terms, right now Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish (#205) is the best finishing polish currently available on the market, and is a pure joy to use for the final refining of finishes ahead of the application of sealant or wax protection. In the time since it was first released, it has seen more use in our studio than any other finishing polish and has become an essential part of our line up that we could now not be without.
Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish (#205) is a new fast acting ultra-fine liquid abrasive that is designed to permanently remove minor paint defects such as such as faint swirl marks, polishing holograms and wash marring from original and refinished paintwork and leave a superior high gloss finish ready for the addition of sealant or wax protection. Comprising a unique blend of precision-milled non-diminishing micro-abrasives, Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish (#205) offers distinct advantages in terms of finish quality and work time, and performs equally well whether used in conjunction with dual action or rotary machine polishers, making it ideal for both home and professional use.
Meguiar’s Ultra Finishing Polish (#205) can be applied by hand or machine, although for best results we strongly recommend the latter. By hand, it should be applied to freshly clayed paint using a Lake Country Light Cut Hand Pad. Only 1-2 pea-sized drops of product are required to polish a 12” x 12” area, and these should be worked in as firmly and evenly as possible until only a thin haze remains. This haze should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel.
For best results using a dual action polisher, Meguiar’s Ultra Finishing Polish (#205) should be applied to freshly clayed or compounded paint using either a Lake Country 140 mm Hydro-Tech Polishing Pad or a Lake Country 140 mm Hydro-Tech Finishing Pad. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18” x 18” area, and these should be worked in thoroughly at around 4000-5000 orbits per minute (speed 4-5 on most dual action machine polishers) until only a thin film remains. This film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel.
For best results using a rotary polisher, Meguiar’s Ultra Finishing Polish (#205) should be applied to freshly clayed paint using either a Lake Country 140 mm Hydro-Tech Polishing Pad or a Lake Country 140 mm Hydro-Tech Finishing Pad. Only 1-2 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18” x 18” area, and these should be worked in thoroughly at around 1500-2000 revolutions per minute (speed 3-4 on most rotary polishers) using the zenith method until only a thin film remains. This film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel.
