Meguiar's Foam Cut Compound (#101)

At the start of 2011, Meguiar's released a brand new cutting compound that once again moved the game on and set a new standard of excellence in the marketplace. In a nutshell, Meguiar's Foam Cut Compound (#101) delivers a monumental amount of cut in a very short space of time and is unrivalled in situations where extreme paint correction is required on harder paint types. Users should note that it works extremely quickly and should thus be used accordingly; any attempt to overwork it will result in excessive dusting and will also make the residue harder to buff off. Also worth reiterating is that it removes a lot of paint very rapidly. You must therefore use it with extreme care, and ideally in conjunction with a paint thickness gauge.
Meguiar's Foam Cut Compound (#101) is a fast acting liquid abrasive that is designed to permanently remove severe paint defects such as deep scratches, sanding pigtails and extreme acid etching from original and refinished paintwork and leave a superior high gloss finish ready for final polishing. Comprising a unique blend of precision-milled non-diminishing micro-abrasives (Super Micro-Abrasive Technology, or SMAT for short), Meguiar's Foam Cut Compound (#101) offers distinct advantages in terms of finish quality and working time. Furthermore, it performs equally well with all pads types (foam, microfibre and wool) and with both dual action and rotary machine polishers, making it ideal for both home and professional use.
Meguiars Foam Cut Compound (#101) should only be applied by machine. For best results using a dual action polisher, it should be applied to freshly clayed paint using either a Meguiars 140 mm DA Microfibre Cutting Disc or a Lake Country 140 mm Hydro-Tech Cutting Pad. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18 x 18 area, and these should be worked in thoroughly at around 4000-5000 orbits per minute (speed 4-5 on most dual action machine polishers) until only a thin film remains. This film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel and the finish should then be further refined using Meguiars Ultra Finishing Polish (#205).

For best results using a rotary polisher, Meguiars Foam Cut Compound (#101) should be applied to freshly clayed paint using either a Lake Country 140 mm Rotary H-T Cutting Pad or, in cases where even more cut is required, a Lake Country 165 mm Foamed Wool Pad. Only 1-2 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18 x 18 area, and these should be worked in at around 1500-2000 revolutions per minute (speed 3-4 on most rotary polishers) using the zenith method until only a thin film remains. This film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel and the finish should then be further refined using Meguiars Ultra Finishing Polish (#205).
