There are many excellent ranges of cutting compounds and polishes available on the market these days, so for any new range of polishing products to captivate us they really do have to offer a stand out level of performance. The new line up of Q²M Compound, Q²M Polish and Q² Primer from Gyeon does exactly that. Rather than go down the white-labelling route, Gyeon have instead invested time and effort in developing and manufacturing their own formulas. This approach, while costly, has enabled them to produce a range of polishing products that break new ground. Gyeon Q²M Compound does everything other market leading compounds do, except it cuts faster, generates far less dust (almost none), buffs off more easily, leaves paint feeling smoother and finishes down as well as most finishing polishes. We're impressed to say the least!
Gyeon Q²M Compound is a fast-acting abrasive paste designed to permanently remove heavier paint defects such as deep swirl marks, light scratches and acid etching from original and refinished paintwork, and leave a superior high gloss finish ready for further refinement. Comprising a unique blend of coarse precision-milled Japanese diminishing abrasives suspended in a water-based emulsion, Gyeon Q²M Compound offers significant advantages over rival compounds in terms of extremely low dust production, incomparable finish quality and reduced working time. Free of silicones and fillers, it works best with firm foam cutting pads and performs equally well whether used in conjunction with free-spinning or gear-driven dual action polishers, making it ideal for both home and professional use.
You should use Gyeon Q²M Compound with a machine. For best results using a dual action polisher, Gyeon Q² Compound should be applied to freshly decontaminated paint using either a Lake Country Hydro-Tech Cutting Pad or a SCHOLL Concepts Spider Cutting Pad (on extremely hard paint finishes a SCHOLL Concepts Sandwich Spider Pad is also a great choice). Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18" x 18" area, and these should be worked in thoroughly at 4000-5000 orbits per minute (speed 4-5 on most dual action polishers) until only a hint of residue remains. This residue should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel.
