Working with coatings can be stressful at times, particularly on extremely soft surfaces that mar very easily. In our experience, there's nothing worse than finally managing to finish down well on soft paint only to then mar it again during the cleansing wipe down. Well, there is one thing worse; getting through the wipe down unscathed only to then mar the finish the during the coating application itself - a few tears are often shed when this happens! However, we're hopeful of never having to experience such frustration again, thanks to Gyeon Q² Primer. Developed specifically to make life easier when preparing delicate paint finishes for quartz coatings, it combines the final polishing and cleansing steps into one and greatly enhances the slickness of treated surfaces. In doing so, it eliminates a significant amount of towel contact with the paint and reduces friction as the coating is subsequently applied, thus greatly reducing the likelihood of fresh marring being inflicted during the process. What more can we say, other than it works brilliantly and makes coating preparatory work much easier.
Gyeon Q² Primer is an ultra-fine finishing polish and SiO2-based primer for quartz coatings. It is designed to burnish painted surfaces to perfection and prepare them to receive a silica-based coating without the need for a subsequent cleansing step. Although it is suitable for use on all paint types, it excels on extremely soft finishes that are difficult to prepare and coat without introducing fresh marring. It achieves this by eliminating unnecessary wiping down of the freshly polished finish and significantly enhancing the slickness of treated surfaces, which reduces friction when the coating is subsequently applied. Comprising a unique blend of ultra-fine precision-milled diminishing abrasives and siloxane polymers suspended in a water-based emulsion, Gyeon Q² Primer offers enormous advantages in terms of extremely low dust production, incomparable finish quality and reduced marring risk. Free of silicones and fillers, it works best with soft foam finishing pads and performs equally well whether used in conjunction with free-spinning or gear-driven dual action polishers.
Gyeon Q² Primer should be applied by machine in a dry place out of direct sunlight. For best results using a dual action polisher, Gyeon Q² Primer should be applied to freshly decontaminated and fully corrected paint using either a Lake Country Hydro-Tech Finishing Pad or a SCHOLL Concepts Spider Finishing Pad (on extremely soft paint finishes a SCHOLL Concepts SOFTouch Waffle Pad is also a great choice). Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18" x 18" area, and these should be worked in thoroughly at 3000-4000 orbits per minute (speed 3-4 on most dual action polishers) until only a hint of residue remains. This residue should then be buffed off very carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel. Following application, the car must then be left in a dry place out of direct sunlight for a minimum of 24 hours to allow the SiO2-primed surface to cure before the coating is applied. Alternatively, if waiting this long is not convenient or practical, wipe down the treated surfaces very carefully with Gyeon Q²M Prep in the usual way and then apply the coating immediately afterwards.
