Carlack Long Life is one of our all-time favourite paint sealants, which we regularly use to add multiple coats of durable acrylic protection to freshly prepared paint finishes. Carlack Long Life quickly and easily extends the durability of the protection laid down by Carlack Complete and can be layered many times, because the absence of chemical cleaning agents in the formula means that each fresh application does not strip or otherwise degrade any coats already laid down.
Carlack Long Life produces an incredibly smooth finish, which is characterised by mirror-like reflectivity, razor sharp clarity and, on metallic and pearlescent finishes, the most intense degree of flake pop imaginable. In terms of suitability, we favour using Carlack Long Life on light to mid-tone metallic and pearlescent finishes, although in truth it delivers an excellent finish on most colours. As an essential last step product in our line up, Carlack Long Life is highly recommended.
Carlack Long Life is a pure acrylic sealant that extends the durability of Carlack Complete and other acrylic polymer-based sealants by building an increasingly smooth and more sharply reflective finish; the more layers you build up, the better the finish gets in terms of both looks and durability. Because it contains no chemical cleaning agents, Carlack Long Life is well suited to being layered many times, as each fresh application will not strip or degrade previously applied layers.
Carlack Long Life improves the resistance of the paint finish to environmental threats, such as UV radiation and the organic acids in bird droppings and bug splatter. In addition to its notable protective qualities, the resulting ultra-smooth finish also ensures that low-angle incident light bounces off cleanly, producing mirror-like reflections, while the high refractive index of the polymers allows high-angle light to penetrate into the finish and enhance the apperance of flake effects.
Carlack Long Life should be applied hand. For best results, apply it to freshly polished paint using a damp Meguiar's Microfibre Applicator Pad (try to avoid getting it on unpainted trims, but if you do be sure to wipe it off straight away, otherwise staining may occur). Only 2-3 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be applied as thinly and evenly as possible to form a hazy looking film that should be buffed off immediately using a PB Deluxe Buffing Towel (if the film starts to dry out and proves difficult to remove, lightly mist it with Carlack Fast Detailer and continue buffing). If you wish, you can apply multiple layers in quick succession, as long as you leave a minimum of 30 minutes between each coat.
