Carlack Complete blurs the line between polishes and sealants, since it has excellent cleaning and light polishing properties but also lays down a basecoat of sealant protection. It is one of our all-time favourite paint preparation products, and we frequently reach for it to prepare painted surfaces for receiving subsequent coats of sealant protection. Carlack claim that Complete is the result of more than half a century of specialised research and development in paint care, and based on its incredible abilities we do not doubt this claim is true.
In a single application, Carlack Complete draws out deep-seated dirt and grime from painted surfaces and simultaneously lays down tough acrylic polymers to form an elastic sealing layer that is perfectly primed to receive additional coats of protection. We are always amazed at just how much dirt and grime Carlack Complete draws out of clean looking surfaces; brand new pure white Meguiar's Microfibre Applicator Pads always become grubby looking when we use it, even after performing an extremely thorough three stage decontamination process first.
A further benefit of the intensely smooth and level coating laid down by Carlack Complete is the finish it gives, which is best described by mirror-like reflectivity, razor sharp clarity and, on metallic and pearlescent finishes, the most intense degree of flake pop imaginable. In summary, Carlack Complete is an exceptional paint cleaner that also lays down a fantastic looking basecoat of acrylic protection. Given its abilities, and that it can be used to clean and seal high gloss plastics and polished metals too, it's definitely a product we could not be without.
Carlack Complete is neither a polish nor a sealant or a wax, but rather a non-abrasive multifunctional emulsion comprising solvent-free cleaning and conserving agents that work in tandem to clean painted surfaces and seal them for up to three months. This unique German-made formula reflects more than five decades of specialised research and development in paint protection chemistry, and represents the state of the art in one step product technology.
The unique formula builds on the exceptional protective qualities of polyethylene-acrylic nano-scale polymers by incorporating intensive cleaners that serve to create an exceptionally smooth surface to which the protective polymers can strongly bond. By using nano-scale polymers, an unparalleled surface coating density is achieved that greatly improves resistance to environmental threats, such as ultraviolet radiation, acid rain and the organic acids in bird droppings and bug splatter, and mechanical damage, such as wash-induced marring and fine scratching.
As a further benefit, the ultra-smooth surface coating ensures that low-angle incident light is brilliantly reflected to produce mirror-like images, while the high refractive index of the polymers allows high-angle light to penetrate into the finish and improve flake pop. In fact, the light transmittance of the coating laid down by Carlack Complete actually exceeds that of optical glass, thus ensuring that the beauty of your paint will stand out with unobstructed clarity.
Carlack Complete can be applied by hand or dual action machine, but we recommend the former method for best results. For best results by hand, it should be applied to freshly decontaminated paint using a Meguiar’s Microfibre Applicator Pad. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be wiped in as firmly and evenly as possible to produce a film that should then be allowed to dry fully (out of direct sunlight). Once completely dry and hazed over, this film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel (if the film proves difficult to remove at first, lightly mist it with Carlack Fast Detailer and continue buffing).
For best results using a dual action polisher, Carlack Complete should be applied to freshly decontaminated paint using a Lake Country 140 mm Hydro-Tech Finishing Pad. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be worked in thoroughly at around 3000-4000 orbits per minute (speed 3-4 on most dual action machine polishers) until only a thin film remains. After being allowed to dry fully (out of direct sunlight), this film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel (if the film proves difficult to remove at first, lightly mist it with Carlack Fast Detailer and continue buffing).
