This excellent value for money kit includes everything you need to achieve the Carlack acrylic finish on your car, and works best on light to mid-tone metallic and pearlescent finishes, although in truth it delivers an awesome looking finish on most colours. Carlack Complete is an exceptional chemical paint cleaner that also lays down a fantastic looking basecoat of acrylic protection; you should use it once every six months (after decontaminating your bodywork first) in order to prime your paint ready for fresh layers of sealant protection. Carlack Long Life is a pure acrylic sealant that extends the durability of Carlack Complete by building an increasingly smooth, more sharply reflective, finish; the more layers you build up, the better the finish gets in terms of both looks and durability. Carlack Fast Detailer is an ultra-slick quick detailing spray that can be used to further enhance surface gloss after washing and drying, and loosen the residues of Carlack Complete and Carlack Long Life should you ever find them difficult to remove. The finish produced by this system is best described by mirror-like reflectivity, razor sharp clarity and, on metallic and pearlescent finishes, the most intense degree of flake pop imaginable; silvers and greys in particular look simply amazing in the sun after being treated with the Carlack Acrylic Kit.
Step 1 – Carlack Complete
Carlack Complete should be applied to freshly decontaminated paint using one of the supplied Meguiar’s Microfibre Applicator Pads. Only 3-4 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be wiped in as firmly and evenly as possible to produce a film that should then be allowed to dry fully (out of direct sunlight). Once completely dry and hazed over, this film should then be buffed off carefully using the supplied PB Super Buffing Towel (if the film proves difficult to remove at first, lightly mist it with Carlack Fast Detailer and continue buffing).
Step 2- Carlack Long Life
Carlack Long Life should be applied using one of the supplied Meguiar’s Microfibre Applicator Pads. Only 2-3 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be wiped on thinly and evenly to form a hazy looking film that should be buffed off immediately using the supplied PB Deluxe Buffing Towel (if the film starts to dry out and proves difficult to remove, lightly mist it with Carlack Fast Detailer and continue buffing). If you wish, you can apply multiple coats in quick succession, as long as you leave 30 minutes between each one.
Step 3 – Carlack Fast Detailer
For best results, lightly mist Carlack Fast Detailer over a single panel at a time and immediately wipe the panel down to spread a thin, even film of product using the supplied PB Luxury Buffing Towel. Then refold your towel, and buff the panel down carefully to fully remove the film and reveal an intense streak-free shine.
Care instructions for applicators and towels
(i) wash after each use in a washing machine at a low temperature (40 °C) using a non-biological liquid detergent (avoid soap powders and detergents containing bleach or fabric softeners); (ii) allow to dry naturally on a line or tumble dry on a cool heat setting (avoid radiators and other sources of high heat), and; (iii) store in a dry, dust-free environment whilst not in use (lidded plastic storage boxes are ideal in this respect).
