When you first open Blackfire Metal Show Polish you may be somewhat taken aback, as it comprises a runny pine-scented gel that bares more than a passing resemblance to tree sap! Don't let this put you off; it is fact a state of the art metal finishing polish packed to the rafters with ultra-fine ceramic polishing particles, and it is these particles that are the secret to the phenomenal shine it produces. Although it can be applied by hand if sufficient effort is put in, in most cases the use of a rotary style power tool makes a lot more sense and produces far superior results. On those occasions when we are required to go the extra mile and use Blackfire Metal Show Polish, we typically tend do so in conjunction with a Dremel power tool fitted with a selection of soft polishing heads.
This state of the art polish is an optional last step in the Blackfire metal polishing system and is designed for concours level preparation of polished metal surfaces. Blackfire Metal Show Polish further burnishes the brilliant shine left by Blackfire Fine Cut Metal Polish to a stunning mirror-like finish. It comprises a thick pine-based gel packed full of ultra-fine ceramic polishing particles, and it is these ultra-hard nano-scale particles that are the secret to the phenomenal shine. Please note that this product gives best results on polished aluminium surfaces, but can also be used on other polished metal surfaces to great effect.
Blackfire Metal Show Polish may be applied by hand or machine, although the best results are always obtained using the latter. By hand, it should be applied using a Lake Country Light Cut Hand Pad. Only 1-2 drops of product are required to polish a 6” x 6” area, and these should be worked in as firmly and evenly as possible until only a thin haze remains. This haze should then be buffed off carefully using an Atomiza Microfibre Work Towel, and the process repeated as necessary until the desired level of shine is achieved. By machine, the choice of method and polishing attachments will be largely determined by the make and model of the power tool that will be used. In general, small rotary style power tools such as those made by Dremel or Proxxon are best, as they are able to access tight recesses around tailpipes and engine bay components quite easily.
