3M Performance Finish
3M Performance Finish is a low cost entry level synthetic polymer sealant that serves as an excellent alternative to lower quality sealants and waxes found on the high street. Like most pure synthetic paint sealants, it offers limited richness and gloss, but more than makes up for this in terms of reflectivity, flake pop and slickness. Easy to apply and buff off, we recommend using 3M Performance Finish as a durable basecoat for subsequent applications of 3M Quick Wax.
3M Performance Finish is a siloxane-based synthetic polymer sealant designed to seal and protect modern automotive paint finishes. It can be layered to build up additional gloss and protection, and can be topped with further coats of wax protection to give an even deeper shine if desired. Following easy application, 3M Performance Finish effectively adds a layer of armour to painted surfaces that stubbornly resists the British elements for two to three months at a time.
3M Performance Finish can be applied equally well by hand or dual action machine. For best results by hand, it should be applied to freshly polished paint using a Meguiar’s Foam Applicator Pad. Only 2-3 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be applied as thinly and evenly as possible to produce a film that should then be buffed off carefully using a 3M Microfibre Detail Cloth.
For best results using a dual action polisher, 3M Performance Finish should be applied to freshly polished paint using a 3M 150 mm Finishing Pad. Only 1-2 pea-sized drops of product are required per panel, and these should be worked in thoroughly at around 3000-4000 orbits per minute (speed 3-4 on most dual action machine polishers) until only a thin film remains. This film should then be buffed off carefully using a 3M Microfibre Detail Cloth.
