Although 3M Fast Cut Plus was originally designed specifically for use on modern ceramic nano-particle and scratch-resistant clearcoats, it has since proven itself to be ideal for use on harder conventional clearcoats in situations where maximum levels of cut are required to correct severe paint defects. Aimed at professional detailers, this product offers distinct advantages in terms of finish quality and work time, coupled with simplicity and ease of use (it should be noted that it does produce a huge amount of dust, but this is a small price to pay for the multiple benefits on offer). Users should also note that this product is one of the most aggressive polishing compounds currently available on the market, and should only be used in conjunction with rotary polishers.
This is a professional strength product and as such carries potentially serious health and usage risks that should be fully understood from the outset - please read the instructions carefully.

Material Safety Data Sheet
3M Fast Cut Plus is a fast acting liquid abrasive designed to permanently remove major paint defects such as severe swirl marks, deep scratches and acid etching from original and refinished paintwork and leave a superior high gloss finish ready for final polishing. Unlike many other aggressive cutting compounds, 3M Fast Cut Plus breaks down well during use to leave a sharp high gloss finish that subsequently requires only relatively minor refinement. The high level of cut on offer is achieved using ultra-fine, precision-milled aluminium oxide particles suspended in a base of lubricating oils. Like its milder companion products, 3M Fast Cut Plus contains no fillers, meaning that defect removal is permanent rather than temporary.

Material Safety Data Sheet
3M Fast Cut Plus should only be applied using a rotary polisher. For best results, it should be applied to freshly clayed paint using either a 3M 150 mm Compounding Pad or wool compounding pads if a greater level of cut is required. Only 1-2 pea-sized drops of product are required per 18” x 18” area, and these should be worked in thoroughly at around 1500-2000 revolutions per minute (speed 3-4 on most rotary polishers) using the zenith method until only a thin film remains. This film should then be buffed off carefully using a PB Super Buffing Towel. In all cases, the compounding process should be completed and the finish then further refined using 3M Ultrafina SE.
